Don't let it make you feel badly. When you are actually applying for jobs, your great resume will speak for you and I bet you'll get a very different response!
I kind of have to laugh at it because it's so typical of the kind of ridiculous things that happen in my life but it's still annoying, especially considering I was just having a conversation with my FI yesterday about money and the future and how I'm worried I won't be able to get another job because I am terribly underpaid where I'm at and he was all like "You are going to get your dream job you're so talented" blah blah blah.
Sigh.
ugh! that sucks!! this has happened to me too, where i applied for something a very long time ago and then they send me a rejection... it's super annoying!

I just got an email saying basically Thanks But No Thanks, we found someone better than you, etc. But, um, I haven't applied for a job since March. AWESOME. Now I'm getting rejected from things I haven't even applied for. This bodes well for next year when I had actually planned on applying for a new job.
I'm so totally aggro right now. That was not what I needed on a Monday. Totally rubbed me the wrong way.
