@ajillity81:  I definitely recommend you at least go look at it to make sure it’s the right dress, size and color.  I didn’t try mine on until my first fitting, but I did go to make sure everything was correct and there wasn’t any obvious damage to the gown just in case something had to be re-ordered.

@ajillity81:  Well if there’s an issue I’d want to know right away. That would be my motivation to seeing it immediately, not just “wanting to see what it looks like.”

@ajillity81:  Please, please go check it out.

My dress came in November and I waited until late March to go see it per the boutique recommendations. I was shocked to discover that al the beading on the front of my dress was crooked (and my veil was wrong!). It took several long and frustrating weeks to get another dress. Don’t put yourself in that time crunch, make sure it is right.

I waited over 2 months to go try mine on when it came in.

Yes, that’s normal. I actually had to go and inspect the dress to make sure it was right before I  paid the balance off the dress.

@ajillity81:  I would go and try it on. This way with the dress in your size you can see how it fits pre-alterations. I.E. If you need to gain/lose weight you may be able to avoid taking in/letting some parts out. My girlfriend who was just married offered this advice to me as I still want to lose weight and have only lost 5lbs thus far. She mentioned it may be the “kick” I need if the dress is a bit tight.
