Our band is taking quite a long (30-45 minute) break between sets, which has left me worrying about what to do with the lag time. Not terribly keen on bouquet/garter toss, and we’re cutting our cake earlier in the day. HOWEVER, I just realized that since we’re having a jazz band playing some of those classically danceable rat pack/swing/ballroom tunes, it could be a lot of fun to have an instructor come up when the band gets off and give a ballroom dance lesson!
People who don’t want to participate can mill around and nibble on the food from the evening buffet that will come out at the same time, but I’m thinking this will be a really fun, classy way to involve people who might otherwise dance (like my parents) if they knew how. Plus, people will have had a bit of drink by then, which should loosen them up to get on the floor for a little practice before the band’s second set.
What do you think?? Fun?
