That's so rude of the people at the store. Were your relatives within earshot as you told them that you didn't want the veil? I really hope you can get out of that contract..
You should write a review of the actual store on Yelp, Wedding Wire etc. That is something that would deter me from going to that store. Talk to them again and let them know that you will be telling everyone about their sneaky tactics to sell veils.
Before you write the reviews, kendly mention that you were looking forward to writing about them here (Weddingbee has about 1.4 million unique visitors in one month) and will review them on the other sites.
It's amazing how nicely mentioning that you'll be reviewing your experience will help smooth things out.
Okay there is something wrong with that. I'm sure you had people with you when you told the store that you did not want the veil. Dispute this! There is no way you should have to pay this charge

Long story short:
I bought a wedding dress at a store (deposit was half the price of the dress). When I decided on the dress, the assistant put on a veil on me which was nice but I did not want to buy it as it's a few hundred dollars for a nothing-special veil (I can easily find nicer ones from Etsy or whatever). So we went down to pay the deposit and the veil was included in the contract. I ask her to remove it and that if I wanted it in the future, I'll buy it then. She says that it's only there so that the store will know which veil it is (model no., design whatever) and that she will put it in the system that I could decide later if I wanted it or not. MIL and SIL gave the impression that this is normal (they've bought numerous wedding dresses before with other SILs etc.).
Well now, I've been told that because I signed the contract, I would have to pay for the veil anyway. I am so iritated because this is a really, really, really overpriced veil (well..I guess all the accessories at bridal stores tend to be overpriced, on Etsy, this veil is probably around $30 and now I'm paying aout $310) and I already told them so many times that I DID NOT want this on my contract. I am annoyed at myself because I was pressured into thinking it was "OK" when I should've known better!!! Grrrr
