Oh dear 🙁 That would definitely freak me out. But hey, some people really have no pain tolerance. Just try and relax and focus on you. And congratulations!! 🙂

Aw, don’t worry it’s all going to be worth it!

On the other side of it, I made a woman very upset in L&D triage, I was giggly and joking around with DH while she was vomiting and in pain. She yelled at me :-/

(I wasn’t joking about her, it was late at night and I was in labor waiting to be taken down to pre-op, just kind of got silly)

@Cory_loves_this_girl:  Yikes! I heard similar when I was in the hospital. I think some people go way over the top with the screaming- I was in complete pain, but I didn’t make those crazy sounds. I think it would have made everything worse and more scary for me if I was that loud, but you do what you’ve got to do to get through it I guess! Post pics when you have your new LO:)

I def moaned and made horrific sounds! Lol it felt like a knife in my va-jay!! Lol plus I had to wait til I was 7-8cm for any type of pain meds… Sat waiting in triage because there were no rooms!! After the pain meds and epi it was a piece of cake!!

@Cory_loves_this_girl:  luckily my sister warned me about that. she’s clearly going natural so if you aren’t you won’t be feeling what she is!! My hospital tries to put all the natural people at one end of the hall lol. Good luck!!!!!!!

…I don’t understand why people get freaked out, it’s natural! Labour is painful.

I attempted to go natural, but ended up with an epi at 10cm…whoops! Even with the epi, I was a screaming demon (possibly because as fast as it was put in, they turned it off when they realized I was 10cm).

The screaming really helped me with pushing… lol

Good luck with your labour! Hope it is all smooth & wonderful!

I’ve worked in L&D, and will working there again shortly! Everyone copes with pain in their own way. Some people are screamers,  that’s just how they deal with pain. A lot of women also scream when they feel out of control, during transition, if they come in expecting an epidural and it is too late, or when they are fighting off pushing. I don’t think you will have those problems! You are going to do fine! Just focus on your  baby and SO,  and each contraction being one step closer to your little one!

@MrsWBS:  That’s funny that you mention the natural thing. I tend to find the opposite in my hospital/area. The natural births tned to be much more relaxed and controlled in my experience. Unless of course the person is having a natural birth purely because it is too late for them to have an epidural.

That’s what happened to me when I went into labor. Was laying in the bed waiting to be checked, and the woman across the hall hadnt gotten there til she was 7cm and it was too late for an epidural. I listened to her labor for a couple of hours, and it made my contractions so much worse.
