Wow. I just have to say...WOW! That is freaing awesome! I wanted missmatched dresses, but it just didn't work out. They're all wearing the same dress style and color. Bravo, nice job!
I LOVE the fourth (the one above the bottom one)! GORGEOUS!!!! soooooo.... do ya mind if I ask where it was found at??? ;)
they're all BEAUTIFUL dresses! and great colors, too!!!!
thanks guys! i went through scared moments but in the long run i just kept telling myself it would work out.. I did a lot of searching and emailing them what i thought would work... have not seen them ALL together but i am thinking it should work!!
#1 was from a bridal shop
#2 was a J. Crew in dusty shale- all my ladies were fighting over this one and at one point i almost gave in and just let them pick any jcrew dusty shale they wanted...
#3 was from ModCloth.com- love how this one is so different! $80!
#4 was from NewportNews.com and agreed it is soo pretty.. one of the first I found and considered at one point putting them all in it.. BM who got this one feels the centermost stone is a little cheap looking and getting a friend help her switch it out for something else. $80!
#5 is a J. Crew light sage... this is my MOHs. she is tall and skinny and this dress looks FANTASTIC on her.
Just looking at the pics, I'd say they're gonna look AMAZING together!!!! they're GORGEOUS!!! and I love the idea you simply told 'em the colors and they got dresses that'll be great together!
and THANK YOU!!! lol, I'm not sure I could pull off that color, but it's just beautiful! and a great price, too!!!!
now... to see if it comes in another color... ;)
figured i should post the guys' ties too. decided to buy them as part of a gift to them. thought that since the girls were not matching, neither should the guys. It is a beach wedding so they will be wearing beige pants, white shirt, no tie.
oooohhh... VERY nice!!! I love the paisly one! The third from the left.
i absolutely LOVE every one of those dresses! the colors are fantastic!
This is going to look really good together. Can't wait to see the pics from the wedding.
@Zinzerena: me tooo its my fave!! FI HATED it... but i just could not put it down. so that one goes to my brother ;) haha.
Thanks for the responses ladies! it is so scary to go this route.. just had to keep my fingers crossed!
Love love love this! you did a great job. I really want to do non matching too
Those dresses are adorable and look great together! My girls will be matching, but a small part of me does wish I could get onboard with non-matching. I'm too into symmetry and consistency though. :)
love the dresses esp the jcrew ones and the ties as well. so cute! i like mismatched!
oh my goodness...i am SO glad you posted this. i've been thinking about mismatched bridesmaids dresses a lot lately. i was wondering how to tackle the cohesive look (i.e. the bridesmaids all have very different tastes)...and out of curiosity, how did you handle this so you still had input in the decision making? do you think just picking out a bunch of dresses you like and asking the girls to choose one each would work? is that what you did? your palette and dress selection is stunning.
I love your ladies' dresses! Especially that Modcloth one! Have you seen it and person, and if so, what do you think of the quality? I would like to buy it for a shower, but the reviews on Modcloth made me wonder if it was worth the money.
I LOVE the mismatched styles! I think that will be absolutely fantastic! LOVE the dresses too! The Modcloth is definitely my favorite! I am definitely showing my bridesmaids this post! I can't wait! EXCELLENT WORK!
@Ms. Meowerson: I sent them some inspiration of mismatched dresses, i also sent them a bunch of Pantone colors so that they could see the range I wanted them to match within, and then I started by sending them just one large PDF of styles I really like (not necessarily in the right colors but just general fanciness). this way, they could start keeping an eye out when shopping. i got some samples from J Crew so I at least knew we had the fall back of those 2 colors and then saw Ann Taylor had a similar one... so i sent them all those... i pretty much started religiously checking modcloth, bluefly, anthro, jcrew, ann taylor, newport news, macys.. etc. every few weeks i would send them an update with links to dresses i liked... so it was a mix of me sending suggestions and them showing me what they found. DEF start early... DEF see what colors are out there if you aren't going to go with something like "grey" or "black"
@jordynrose: i LOOOVE that dress too. the second that got posted i emailed one if my girls and was like "you neeeeed to try this" i have not seen it in person but she said that it IS very flimsy/see through. she was determined to make it work because it is so different/cute. she was going to try to get a slip sewn in but didnt think that the material would hold up enough for that... it just so happens that a day or 2 after she got it her friend posted some pics of a wedding she went to and she was wearing the SAME dress. so my BM asked her how she liked it and what she did... apparently this girl just had to get a slip to wear under it but otherwise liked it. Sooo i dont think it is a dress that will last forever but for $80 it would work for a few outings.
love the dresses. ur maids definitely know how to stick to the color scheme.. cos alot of the time the mismatched dresses just look too far apart from each other but these work so well together.. just love it
@bells: thanks! i didnt want them to match TOO much either.. its hard to make it flow without looking like you are TRYING to match the same color... i wanted to get a little bit of greener and a little bit of blue-er. i thiiink it worked. again, havent seen them all together next to each other, and won't until the wedding! so we will see!

so I know everyone is not into mismatched bridesmaids... but, well, I am and that is all that matters :) I could not bring myself to pick a dress for 5 girls to spend soo much money on when they are sooo differently shaped (you will see when i post wedding day pics!). so i told them "seaglass, light aqua, light sage." I also gave the 3 of them that are designers Pantone colors so they can go shopping with the chips. This is what they all came back with and I am soo excited i can not wait!!
