I wanted to have my own invitations designed. I had a rough idea, and was going to leave it to a pro, but due to a lot of chaos happening all at once, I never had any time. So my rough draft wound up being the design. I’d have liked to have had it perfected or changed somehow by someone who knows what they are doing, but such is life!
Things I wish I would have done differently if I’d had time:
1) My biggest disappointment was that the RSVP postcards I designed and ordered came in a not-quite-white color and don’t match as well as I’d have liked!! I would have reordered them from somewhere else.
2) I wish I could have matted the inserts on the blue back. 🙁
3) I wish I had time to order custom stamps for the RSVP postcards and for the invitations themselves.. I found beautiful blue orchid ones, but they were expensive, and would have taken days to come in, and I was already late sending them out!
I’m happy with how they turned out anyway. 🙂
You can’t really tell very well in the grainy cell phone picture, but the pocketfolds are actually shimmery grey, and the invitations and inserts (except for the postcard) have woodgrain texture to them! 🙂
Here’s the main part:
The RSVP card was basically the same on the front but just our names:
And the back of the RSVP postcard looked like this:
My favorite part is the Woodgrain textured paper they’re printed on.. I even got woodgrain envelopes to match!
Here’s a closeup of the envelope so you can see the pretty woodgrain texture:
I used clear shipping labels bought from Office Depot, and just printed them at home. I added a snippet of the tree design on the address label, which I think turned out well:
I really wish that I had more time to work on them and add some touches. 🙁
But considering how quickly I threw them together, I really do love them!
What do you think? 🙂
