@lastlastfirst:  I say just get to business like you normally would and see what happens after a few months.

I used fertility friend after coming off BC to track my cycles.  I didn’t temp or chart or take any note of other symptoms.  Just marked when I had my period.  The first time we pulled the goalie we got pregnnat. It only takes one time! 😉 Pure luck I guess, though I did tel lmy husband after that there was a slight chance it could happen since the app was telling me I might be in a fertile week.  I was only off BC a month so I hadn’t really gotten to know what my cycle length was to be able to accurately predict anything.

First things first – read this awesome thread:

http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/what-to-expect-ttc#axzz2jJRDHjSG

As far as TTC though, I agree with @MrsWBS. At first, just go with the flow and see what happens. It can turn into a stressful mess if you let it and it’s best NOT to let it go there. If after a few months, nothing has happened and you really want to try a little harder, then I definitely recommend using Fertility Friend to follow your cycle days, symptoms, etc and reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility. If you really want to go all out you can start adding temps to your charting (check out fertility friend, you’ll understand what I mean).

Aside from that, the TTC threads here are SO helpful and supportive. I suggest using the search feature when you have questions because I guarantee they’ve already been disucussed multiple times and there are tons of very helpful threads. But also feel free to add your own threads and join some of the ongoing TTC threads like the POASers.

And most importantly, good luck!!!!

Paying attention to this thread!

We got married in December, and are going to really “start” trying at the end of this month.  I’ve been off the pill since Feb, and tracking my bbt since July, but nothing so far.  I had a physical in June and all my standard labs were normal, and I am of a healthy weight.  I only have one working ovary though.

I am getting a bit nervous that things haven’t happend yet, but I want to get educated before I start freaking out!

@lastlastfirst:  I agree with what the other posters said. When I was gearing up to TTC, I joined the charters of the hive, downloaded Fertility Friend, and purchased Taking Charge of your Fertility. I also purchased wondolfo ovulation predictor sticks off of amazon & started using those to get a grasp on the exact day I was ovulating. I did my BBT as well. My sister criticized me for putting so much effort in gearing up to TTC & said I was going to stress myself out and not be able to get pregnant. She said “i don’t even know when I ovulate, but I’ve gotten pregnant twice, you are just supposed to have sex.” – I’m the forever student & wanted to make sure I felt as educated as possible before we decided to actively try. This also helped us avoid our fertile window in the months we were not trying. For me, I found that knowing what my body was doing was so much more helpful then not knowing. I also had a good supply of wondolfo pregnancy tests & the coveted FRER’s for my test day! We ended up getting our BFP our first month trying & are now 20+3 pregnant. Woot! If you find that charting, BBT and OPK’s are stressful then don’t do them. Just relax & do what you are most comfortable with!

@lastlastfirst:  I’m SO glad that you two are still having fun DTD. DH & I didn’t/don’t have a super active sex life so during my FW the month I got pregnant DH was so OVER DTD. It’s a good thing he got me KU so fast because I don’t know that he could have survived multiple months of me begging for sex =) He’s a funny guy. I’ll keep checking back on the TTC boards to see how your month turns out. GL to you and getting a sticky baby!!!

@lastlastfirst:  I am in the same situation as you.  The sort of- I’m trying but not really…. I am a bit nervous as to why I’ve been off the pill for 8 months now and not preg though. I just want to be educated, like you.
