So my company moved from one state to another and as of today I am laid off. Luckily, I already have another job and I start on Monday.
Tomorrow would have been my two year anniversary with the company, at which time I would get two weeks of vacation time. When employments ends the company pays out unused vacation time.
So I asked if I would still get my vacation time since I am 1 day away from it and I was told NO since today is technically my last day….
I am SOOOOOOOO mad. That’s 80 hours of pay I am losing because I am short ONE day…
Sorry, just needed to vent… I hate the corporate world sometimes!

@seabunny: I totally agree. The whole point about severance is not actually to tide someone over but to basically buy off their goodwill so the exiter doesn’t bash the company when they leave. This company sounds awful.

I do get severence pay (a months pay).. But still!!!
