Wow that is kind of pricey for what it is and while I can understand you wanting it (I wanted to pay 200.00 for a silk ribbon) I can understand where your mom is coming from (My own mother calmly explained to me that I was off my rocker if I was going to spend that much for ribbon I could get for $5.00). I doubt she meant any harm by giving her opinion. If being upset is more about her lack of involvement talk to her about that and let her know you wish she was more involved.

In your mom’s defense (someone has to say something on her behalf) she peobabyl wants you to have the best day ever and not go broke in the process…

with that said… my suggestion is to make sure you’ve seen everything…then if the one you have to have is the esty one…so be it! I’m crafty myself but if you have a touch of OCD it may never be “perfect” in your eyes.

I found other “suggestions” ..  http://www.bridiesbaubles.com/h1119.html

or http://www.bridiesbaubles.com/h1144.html  just in case!

I dont think it is pricey at all…I mean, its what you are wearing on your head…your head where everyone will be looking all day.  It’s your day to feel beautiful!

If you love it then go for it! I agree, less than $200 for your accessories is a good deal! You’ve done awesome at budgeting it sounds like, you’re definitely allowed a little splurge. Sorry your mom rained on your parade. Wear it and love it though! I bet you’re going to get TONS of compliments on it!

PS – Tell your mom my veil cost $450. Maybe that will give her some perspective, LOL! FI nearly passed out when I told him the other night!

I am with your mom on this one because I personally had sticker shock from hair peices and ended up making mine for $15.

If you did make it maybe it could be a project to do with your mom to get her more involved.

But at the same time if you love it and don’t think you could make one go for it!

People spend HEAPS on accessories. The flower is super pretty and you’ve done such a great job of keeping within a budget. DIY is a great option if you’ve got the time, skills and desire to do so but if not just spend the money and be happy with your product. It’s you’re wedding – you’re allowed to splurge in some areas!

How are you wearing your hair? Maybe you could wrap the pearls in your hair somehow? I bet it would look really pretty with your fascinator!
