- Wedding: August 2012
Okay, so this morning I made the plunge and ordered a dress for my reception from Lightinthebox.
I orginally wanted the Isadora Ann, but I have been boarding about a used one in an 18 or 20 for almost a year now with no luck. I called all the stores in Ontario to see if they had a sample in my size (since I could only afford a sample), no luck! And the $1000 price tag for a new one is way too much for a second dress.
It’s beautiful but I only want a second dress in case it’s too hot in the barn that my wedding is being held in this August. I tried and tried to find something on Kijji or Ebay, but nothing, at least nothing I liked at a price I wanted to pay.
I started to look at having a replica made, but felt so uncomfortable about it. Someone a few days ago suggested Lightinthebox. I feel more comfortable with it since it is an actual company, but still wary.
I read a lot of the reviews on here, some bad, some good. The quality of the good reviews seems great for the lower price tag and for a dress I don’t know if I’m even going to wear I did not want to pay too much….
So I’m taking a chance, I know but I am comfortable with my gamble, I am hoping for the best, but I am going to be dilligent in watching my order.
This is the dress I picked, Similar to the Isadora but not as detailed
I ordered it in a 20w though some of my sizes were closer to 18W. Everything I read so far said that paying the $30.00 more for custom sizing is a waste since usuall some alterations are needed. I paid $210 including shipping.
I’m so nervous now, but all I can do is wait. I’m going to watch my shipping date closely since a lot of brides have said it did not ship out on that day and they were given a $30.00 credit, but I’m hoping it is not necessary. We will see, all I can do now is wait…. I’ll update in about 20 days when it should ship out.
