Hey everyone! I’m new to the site and just purchased a vintage wedding gown from Etsy yesterday. I love the art deco look and feel that this embodies it beautifully. I started having second thoughts after my mom said she didn’t like it. My MOH loved it and my other two bridesmaids were so-so about it. I’m absoulutely in love with it but could use some feedback and advice about wearing it/accessories/etc. At 5’3” and 107 lbs, I hope I will be wearing the dress and not the other way around! I can’t wait to receive it! Thanks ladies!

@lauren.dalton.12: Its a beautiful dress and if it goes with your vision than run with it. Sometimes once you add accessories it will make the dress come alive even more. Maybe your mom/friends/bridesmaids will like it when you show them the over all picture (as in once you get the dress, add a veil or some accessories etc) Even if they don’t, its your wedding day and I’m sure you’ll look gorgeous on your day!

I love it! I’m also looking at art deco/vintage lace dresses, and I think I’m going to wear some type of headpiece like this:

That is utterly stunning!!! The colour is absolutely gorgeous, and the lace, wow! Definitely something I would have picked for myself 😛 I got my dress from Etsy too, LOVE anything vintage!

@lauren.dalton.12: So gorgeous! It makes me a little uneasy how there’s something going on with the model on the stomach area in every picture, but perhaps it just was a little big so not flattering. Could also just need a sash/belt to bring it in like she’s doing wtih her hands in the one pic…

Omg I LOVE IT!!! It’s amazing, truly. You are going to rock that dress! As for accessories, you could continue with Art Deco boho style, or keep it classic and simple, or add color or a floral crown – really any way, I think.

I think it’s really pretty and will look awesome as a wedding dress with the right vintage jewelry and maybe a vintage veil. I am also curious though as to why she is holding that hat in front of her belly and there’s no unobstructed full front view of the dress. I hope it was just a poorly chosen prop that isn’t covering something up.

Thanks girls, you’ve really got me feeling confident about my purchase! The ad didn’t mention any quality issues in regards to dress condition, so hopefully the stance/props in the photos are coincidental and not hiding anything!
