I had to rewrite a project I was working on because I sent the wrong file, which is at another computer that I won’t have access to until tonight. I worked on the document, kept saving it, then realized I need to save as and convert it which I did.I worked off of a document that was an email attachment.
Now I can’t find the document and I said I’d have it sent in within the hour and I’m so mad at myself and confused. I already searched the whole computer for it and haven’t found it.
I can do it again but I’m just mentally really tired now and frustrated.

@tmsing: check your temporary folder.

Assuming that when you open the application you were using it doesn’t give you a list of what you’ve recently worked on?

@tmsing: Assuming you haven’t saved anything since in that program try opening the program back up, going to save a blank whatever type of file and see where it automatically has you in the file path.

@MrsWBS: Thanks, it was in the temp folder. For some reason the first time I did a general search nothing turned up and then when I searched for just today’s date it was there.
On another note, I wonder if they teach these things in school now. I learned a bit back then, but I feel like there’s a lot now that I don’t even know how to do.

@tmsing: glad you found it! I definitely never learned that in school, but have figured it out the hard way by accidently doing it and freaking out trying to find it! 🙂
