Are you breastfeeding by any chance?

Mrslovebug:  Yes, you can take a test, and yes, the results will be accurate while on birth control. I personally do not think you have anything to worry about, however.  Starting or ending hormonal bc, such as the pill, can put your cycles out of whack until your body gets assimilated.  As far as the pill goes, it becomes way less effective if you miss a day, a few hours difference should not matter (although it is not recommended).

You just had a baby and went back on BC…your hormones and body are likely trying to figure everything out, and are not yet regulated….

Chances are against pregnancy, IMO. With the pill, mine usually came a couple days after the “blanks” started, like if I started the pack on Sunday, AF would show the Tuesday of the 4th week, not the very same day I stopped the pills with the hormones.

Considering you just had a baby, I think you’re expecting too much from your body too quickly. It’s just like going into puberty — Hormones are crazy and trying to figure themselves out. You just spawned a miniature human. Give it time.

Mrslovebug:  wait, but it’s only been 28 days? DOn’t you normally have a period, then start the pill? Maybe it’s different since you’re postpartum, but I still wouldn’t be too concerned, your body is still learning its new normal.

Mrslovebug:  sounds like your body is just out of whack right now. I agree, you should POAS so you can fully relax 🙂

I think your body is just trying to get back to normal. But I’d honestly take a pregnancy test just to make sure. Especially because if you are pregnant you don’t want to be taking pills.

Mrslovebug:  So, you started hormonal BCPs on Sunday, and two days later your period started? If so, I would have stopped, and waited for my period to go that week, then restarted the following Sunday after your period was tapering off. Since, I assume, you kept taking the pill during your period that first week, your body could be a little confused. And since you didn’t get another period on your sugar pill “off” week, I’d say you won’t see another period until your next “off” week. So, it’s almost like your body skipped a period because you took your pills during your period last time and it was behind that cycle. That’s my guess. Good luck to you!

Mrslovebug:  the last time I switched BCP I didn’t have a period at all. Nothing. No spotting, no cramps. Nada. I wasn’t pregnant, and the next month it came on time. I know that on certain pills it’s a side effect.
