Do you have any friends/relatives that have been married recently? Maybe you could borrow things from them, maybe even a dress? I would defiantly ask around and see if anyone has anything to offer. Maybe a mom or aunt could make you a small cake to celebrate? If you live in the country maybe you could find wildflowers to make a small bouquet? Or visit a local farmer's market and see what they have. That's really nice that the photographer offered to do that for you, maybe she has some other vendor friends who would be willing to offer things as well?
The link to your venue didn't work for me, but it sounds really nice. Just remember, the most important part is that you will be marring the love of you life! Good luck!
Do you have any friends or family that own a video camera that you can borrow? You could set it up on a tripod and then be able to share your wedding with everyone.
Wildflowers can make a beautiful bouquet and boutiniere, as well decorations!
That place looks gorgeous! You are going to have lots of fun taking pictures around all those old buildings and farm equipment.
I second the idea of wildflowers. You and your beloved could go on pre-ceremony, morning hike where you collect flowers together for your bouquet or to put in your hair.
I think the crucial thing is to find a white cotton sundress and a pair of cowboy boots/tennis shoes so as to take advantage of that photographer and the great setting. They needn't be at all expensive and you might be able to borroww them from friends or family. (Or http://www.couturecandy.com/interlud/cotton-voile-cami-dress-/product.html ?)
Otherwise, splurge on a nice bottle of sparkling wine and get drunk on love. :) (You can find great Italian prosecco or spanish cava for less than $20 a bottle).
It all sounds wonderful.
Congratulations - your wedding sounds so romantic. I second the idea to obtain some flowers - wildflowers or a pre-made bouquet you can wrap ribbon around. I even saw those pearl headed florist pins for 100 for $2.99 on the internet. A long walk with your FI is a nice idea - maybe take a picnic of cheese and sparkling wine? Going out for a drink in a coffee shop or cute bar afterwards with just your new *husband* would be sweet. You could play special CDs or wedding themed music while you get ready, like "Going to the Chapel." Writing each other a letter or card you could read either before or after the wedding would help make the day special. I completely agree with you that the two of you should make this day special as it's your wedding day! Enjoy it and I'm so glad to hear that the two of you are getting married in September and are fortunate enough to have a photographer.
Thank you all for the ideas, I am writting them down now:) We are definetly going simple. We are growing our own pumpkins and corn and such to decorate with. We will be using ropeing ropes to section of an isle for me to walk down and then we are just decorating with saddles and such that we already have.
Believe me I have scoured and such for the dress, but I am a lot larger than everyone I know that has been married. I am still praying and hopeing somethings comes up:) I wish I could sew. My dream dress would be made out of cotton eyelet fabric and would have a big pick up skirt and just have chocolate lace accents. But I know that it would look like a 2 year old made it:) hee hee!!!
Love the ideas please please keep them coming:)
I sent another post that should be coming through any time with a lot of thank you's and little details:)
Oh and the cowgirl boots have always been on the top of the list for sure. The other post talks about my dream dress, but as for now it will be a dress from my closet with cowgirl boots and I haven't decided yet if I will do a cowgirl hat or a veil to match my dress:) Gonna have as much fun with it as I can for the pictures:)
As far as friends and family helping, my family is not supportive in anyway and all of my friends and family live 1600 miles away and frankly haven't cared at all about our wedding and his family disowned us when he quit working for the family buisness:( So it is just the two of us:) So we are trying to work with that:)
I will probably make our own wedding cake or just have the basic two tier cake with nothing special done at walmart and then do all the decorating myself. It won't be at all professional, but it will be full of love:)
Thanks for all the ideas, keep them coming:)
Ok so I don't think the other post I sent before is going to show up. Thank you all sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for the ideas, I am writting them down now:) I just want this day to be something we will remember forever and not have those only ifs or what ifs.
We are growing our own pumpkins and corn and such for decoration. We are using ropeing ropes to make an isle for me to come down and using saddles and such we already have for decor. So not much spent there:) THe only thing that was purchased is chocolate and copper tulle to make it a little more elegant:)
I have tried everywhere for a dress and everyone I know is a lot smaller than me so I don't fit in the dresses of anyone I know. Unfortunetly thyroid problems equal weight gain:( I really wish I could sew myself and I would have just made my dress. My ultimate dream dress is maggie sottero "brielle" I would love to have a dress this style only made with a cotton eyelet fabric to give it that country feel and then just add chocolate lace and such for accents. Oh it would be sooooooooooooo beautifull. A girl can dream:) Lots of prayers you never know:) But for now I will wear what I have in the closet with my cowgirl boots:)
I love all the suggestions please send more:) I want to make this day sooooo special for my fiance:)
If you can't afford a bouquet, you can still carry something special down the aisle. Maybe a small bible (if you are religious) or a handkerchief that you could embroider with your initial?
And you can make a veil for about $5 - the tulle is very cheap and you can attach it to a comb you already own.
I will have to look into other ideas of things to carry:) I was planning on making my own bouquet anyways and my own veil for sure. Veils are rediculously expensive for what materials cost:)
So love the ideas:)
ok so I will try again on this post. this is my 3rd try today. not sure why a lot of my posts just diaspeer:( GRRRRRR!!!
Anyways I thank everyone for there advice:) I am definetly making my own bouquet, and cake. So that will save a lot there:)
As far as a dress for sure the cowgirl boots with any dress no matter what:) My dream dress if I could is Maggie sottero "Brielle" I wish I could sew because if I could I would do this dress but just in a ivory cotton eyelet fabric to give it an elegant country look:) Then I would just add chocolate colored lace or ribbon to tob of bodice and around the wast to give it some color:) That would be soooooooooooo beautifull. But unfortunetly if I sewed it I think a two year old could do better:) so for now it will just be a dress out of the closet, my boots and maybe a veil depending on if it looks cheesy or not:) I will make my own for sure;) Way more cost effective:)
A lot of dreams and prayers:) Just want to make this day really special for my fiance:) He deserves it!!!!
Love the ideas keep them coming:)
you can always pick up a bouquet from the local grocery store, if you don't want to make it. if you don't tell them it's a wedding, you can probably pick it up the day of and it won't be priced at a premium.
there are lots of websites that sell veils for a discount over what you find in the stores (or check the wedding bee classifieds!)
have a meal of your favorite foods (or a replica of the first meal you had together?) or a bottle of sparkling wine? that's always festive!
bring an ipod and dance with him in the woods - so what if it's just th 2 of you, it'll be your moment always!
nybride09 I love your dancing in the woods idea, that is so us, we will just pull over on a side road in the country sometimes crank up the music and dance under the stars. I love that idea for sure and I love the idea of our first meal together to:)
Just love hearing all the ideas:)
Wear someting a little out of the ordinary that night, or perhaps try something new? You still get newlywed whoopie, all you want, free of charge!
I definetly want to find something nice to wear for the night:) I think he is more excited for that than the wedding:) hee hee!! j/k-well a little:)
That is why waiting is so much fun:)
I am just loving all the ideas and the PM's on this. Please anyone has any ideas I love hearing them and will definelty be using quite a few of them:)
I know you are short on cash, but I wanted to post this. I found it wonderin amazon.com and thought of you. = ) I think it's be nice in the white. Or Maybe you can just find a little white sundress? Hope this helps!
Thanks HisBarista, I will look at it:) Can't believe the wedding is coming so fast:)
Ok so it is just going to be the two of us and I love hearing peoples ideas about how to make it special, but we are both still so bummed out and still set on a "real" wedding, so we are just going to have fun with the wedding for the two of us and when things get better we will start saving and plan the real wedding with people we love and who knows maybe some bees could attend:) So the bonus of this idea, don't have to leave wedding bee so soon:) Get to enjoy the time to get ideas and look around and truly plan the perfect wedding:)
I still would love to hear more ideas on how to make it special for the two of us:)
I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO BEYOND EXCITED:) I got a dress today. It got it from a sweet girl on craigslist that gave me a steal of a deal. It is a Mori Lee 2105 and I got it for $60 and she is shipping it. I will post pictures of what it looks like in a few minutes:) YEAH!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU LORD FOR ANSWERING PRAYERS:)
BEAUTIFUL DRESS!!!! Can your family not make the drive and y'all just have a big bbq and bornfire? I think it will be so pretty and casual. ((HUGS))....
No my family lives 1600 miles away unfortunetly. We both come from broken families and most are very selfish and don't care. But the ones that do care just really can't afford it. We are trying to be able to have atleast a small number of guests. The place is doing a easy bbq type meal so we can budget a few guests in. So atleast we will have a couple of people hopefully:) But we are both just excited we finally get to get married and we got to go see the place this weekend which made it even more exciting:)
I have details on my blog page if anyone wants to see:) http://acountrycowgirl.blogspot.com/
Congratulations on finding a dress!!!
another unique idea, if you could - maybe have the photgrapher get a picture of the two of you carving your new initals into a tree.... that way there will always be a reminder of your special day at this beautiful location!
If it's a B&B and you want some people to witness your ceremony, maybe invite the keepers of the B&B & the other guests to the ceremony... just an idea, I know that many B&B owners are super sweet.
Good luck on the planning and I'm sure it will turn out magical!
Thanks oneflute85. The tree idea is super cute:) Oh and yes we have already told them they are invited and that we do not mind if the other guests join in:) So it will be fun and interesting I am sure:)
Awe, congratulations on finding a dress!!!! Honestly, Im loving that carving your intials into a tree idea...I soemtimes wish I could go back and do a special just me and my FI ceremony...it would make it so special. The fact that the two of you will be there will make it SO special, and you will look so beautiful in your new dress!!
Go with the wildflowers for a bouquet, you can find some inexpensive wood rings on etsy...they would tie in perfectly with the outdoorsy wood theme for you
i am loving all the ideas everyone is giving us:) I am way more excited now that I have seen the place and have a dress to wear. I will post a few pictures of the place here in a second:)
Here are some of the pictures of where our wedding will be:) I think our photographer will have a great time:)

The covered area on the left is where we will do the ceremony and all the tables will be put out in grass area

This the school house and where we will get married if it rains(But we are hopeing and praying for no rain:)

The Jail will be fun for pictures:)
They also have a liver,Post Office, old house, and so much more to offer:)
This is our room for the night. The cowboy room:)
If you have an ipod, then play that afterwards for the music! Dance out in front of the venue, under the stars and have dinner there and spend the night there too!
If your dinner is included in your stay (as in many bed n breakfasts) see if they can have it group style with everybody there and MAKE it your reception dinner! Nothing some brightly colored indian corn and home grown pumpkins with a few tealight candles and leaves to make a table look festive and pretty!
Also the floral department at my local kroger does an amazing job! They have gerbera daisies in the fall that are bright and beautiful and even had some gorgeous dahlias too! Go buy your own ribbon from a fabric store and they'd do the bouquet wrap for you too! Check them out! You'd be surprised!
Thank you bellenga. We do have a band going to be there that the owner knows so it will be cute. We will have dinner with all the other guests joining and a few of our own may if we can budget enough for food. We will be staying there for the night and sunday we are going to mt rushmore:) We grew our own pumpkins and corn for this so that will be good as long as they are done by then our cooler weather is making it a late year:) I am wrapping mason jars with old barbwire from the ranch and putting in fake flicker candles to hang and set around the table area. I think it will turn out cute for what we have for sure:)
Yes my left to do's are the bouquet
garder( I am making)
Toasting glasses which I may go to dollar store get glasses and decorate them how I want
Cake probably make my own
and the list goes on. We are just prioritizing and doing what we can and that will have to be good:)

Hey everyone out there, I know everyone on here has such great ideas I thought I would ask for some opinions or ideas:)
Well I have posted on here about our story, but basically due to medical bills and needing to get to doctors for more health problems we have had to cancel our wedding and such. The only thing we kept was our place since we already paid for it and the pastor. It is a little western b&b really cute. www.highplainshomestead.com. We will be getting married September 26th.:)
It will just be me and him. We do have a local photographer that has offered to do the pictures for free since our situation won't allow us to spend on things like that. Thank you LORD for that answered prayer:) Photos to remember our day will be awesome.
But without anyone there and not being able to afford wedding dresses, tuxes and all the wedding day normal "essencials" it has been tough not to be sad not to have those things but I don't want my fiance to keep being bummed he couldn't make it happen. He is the most amazing man ever and I am so lucky to have someone that loves me so much and has gone through so much for me:)
so I am looking for ideas on how to make our day special for the two of us without spending a lot of money:) Any ideas would be great:) Thank you in advance for ideas, opinions and thoughts:)
