@leannteresa1:  I’ve heard good reviews about it. A beauty blogger I follow uses them and loves them. I just recently had to cancel my VIP membership with Shoedazzle, lol. They were great too – I just realized that I didn’t NEED that many shoes!

@leannteresa1:  I joined at least a year ago but never bought anything. I’m very picky when it comes to shoes.

I believe they’re being sued at the moment. Once you sign up, they charge your card every month – even if you haven’t purchased anything (the money becomes “credit”). I signed up and cancelled a month or two in. I just remember having a difficult time getting off the phone with the rep, they seem almost too desperate to keep you as a member.

Personally, I’m not a fan!

I signed up on a whim, and, well, you get what you pay for.  The shoes are cheap, cheap, cheap, and I’m ashamed of myself for not knowing better.  Canceling is also a nightmare.  I would stay away.

@mumkin:  Aren’t they pretty open about their practices though? I know that Shoedazzle was pretty open about the $10/month VIP charge that was really a “shoe fund” as they called it.

I am a member and I actually love all the shoes I have gotten there!  If I don’t want a pair that month it’s really easy to cancel for the month with a click of a button!  Every pair I’ve gotten from there I have gotten so many compliments on.  They aren’t going to last a lifetime, I mean they are only $40 but I haven’t had a pair wear out yet!

@leannteresa1:  yeah, you probably have to buy something first. They’ve never charged me for anything. Better luck at DSW.

It wasn’t too much of a nightmare for me to cancel.  I had a nice rep.  She did offer me a bunch of discounts to try to keep me, but I kept telling her I lost my job and I just can’t afford it.  She was very apologetic and sympathetic, and cancelled my membership for me.

I canceled my membership quite easily. I spoke with a guy that didn’t even try to convince me to stay (I guess I’m the only one, judging by those other reviews). The shoes I bought were cute, but really cheap. I take care of my stuff, so I can make them last longer, but there’s no quality. They’re like the cheapest shoes from Wal-Mart or Payless. I’d say put $40/month in a jar and at the end of the year buy really good shoes.

@MrsNewDay:  The monthly charge was fairly hidden. From what I remember, there wasn’t anything on the main page to let buyers know about the monthly charge, just in the fine print. Some lady bought a pair of shoes and went over seas for 8 months or so. She stopped using her American cc and just applied for one in the country she was staying in. When she returned, she saw her bill and was shocked. I think the company made like 320 million by “scamming” people out of money.

For me, if I didn’t want a pair of shoes, I would hate to have to log on to press a button to cancel. I have too much on the go to have to remember this as well!

That being said, I can find better shoes for $40. This is just my opinion thought! 🙂

@mumkin:  No problem! Yeah, I think ShoeDazzle is better in that department (being more up-front about their VIP membership), but I think with these shoe subscription/discount shoe sites, you definitely do get what you pay for… I quit ShoeDazzle and will just start buying my shoes on DSW’s site – free shipping if you have rewards card and discounted better quality shoes.
