I received a gift card for two free rings from JVL Jewelry at a bridal show. My fiance and I ordered our rings, and saw an add for a free cake topper with an engraving. I added the cake topper before adding the engravings, and it already showed up as free! I was so excited. My fiance and I paid $50 for shipping, and thought we had landed a great deal. Since the invoice said the cake topper was free, I assumed that there was more to the ad that simply required the purchase of the ring. Today, I received an email that stated that I had not paid the correct amount and I either needed to purchase the cake topper ($15) or get engraving. I immediately called customer service and wanted to know what happened. They refused to help me with any part of my order. They refused to admit that their website had made a mistake and said that they had, “never had this problem with other customers before”. Of course this statement made me feel like a complete idiot.
I then asked to speak to a manager and was transferred. The manager was equally as rude and refused to help me at all. I was appalled. The cake topper really wasn’t that much money and the company refused to show any sort of respect for their customers. I eventually just told them to take the cake topper off. I will not be doing any more business with them after I receive my rings. I am shocked that they refused to remedy the situation in any way.
Note: I have not received my rings yet, so I don’t know what they quality will be! Please don’t take this review as bad on their rings, only the customer service.
