Hi engaged1207! I am in Detroit, but I went to school at WMU. I know it sounds a little nutso, but we once had a conference at the Sherman Lake YMCA just east of town, and it was a wooded delight. The facilities were way nicer than I had expected for a YMCA camp and it was pretty modern. I would recommend checking out weddingwire.com, they have a lot of local listings plus reviews. And I found kalamazoobride.com on a quick search, they have a lot of venues listed with some photos. Good luck in your planning!
We are using the Park Club in downtown Kalamazoo. They don't advertize that they do weddings, but they will if you ask, and they don't charge for set up or rental or anything- just pay for your food and drinks with tax and gratuity.
My photographer is AMAZING and so very affordable! I talked her into doing my wedding. For the past three years she's only done portrait photography for $40 per session! -For wedding (and you could have a reception there) we are using the Epic Center's Whole Art Theatre. It's wonderful!
@almost WHERE in Kzoo are you? I am here and (sorry to say) hating it!!!! I am from the east side and this is beyond anything I've ever dreamed (nightmares?)
My FH and I moved here for work :)

Does anybody have any recommendations for venues in the Kalamazoo area? I can't seem to find a place that for a wedding and reception that really stands out to me. Also, does anybody know a good photographer at a low price?
