Haha, let's trade! I live in Kansas City, and am wanting to relocate to Florida. (West Palm Beach area.)
No place in Kansas City is going to be quite like Miami. But I suggest looking at the River Market District, The Plaza, then Downtown KCMO. In that order.
If you can handle living in the suburbs, Boulevard Apartments in Roeland Park KS aren't too far from downtown and very affordable. DH & I lived there for 3 years when we first moved to KC.
@abbyful: Why do you want to move out of KS to florida? :) if I may ask.
I absolutely hate the cold and snow. I've lived in KS/MO my entire life. 110 in the summer, -20 windchill in the winter. Blah.
My sister lives in Florida (Boynton Beach), I love it down there! I go at least once a year to visit.

Me and FI have decided it's time for a change, we live in Miami. He's from MO but I've lived here all my life. I'm fairly certain I can find (PT) work up there, and he can find FT until he gets back into his career (Police Officer) I'll want to go to school as well to further my education. I've never lived away from home, KS seems like a great place to live. The climate changes will be a killer but I'll manage, is anyone here from MO that can give advice? Here's what I want, downtown living (im from the city) in a good area I saw some apartments that have skyline views that are very affordable and nice but I don't know about anything over there... We're shooting to leave in March-April.. ANY ADVICE? :)
