We're looking for a restaurant with a private room for up to 30-40 people for our reception space. We'll be having our ceremony in Hanalei and would love to hear any ideas in the area? Reviews would be good too. The ones I'm already aware of are The Beach House and Bar Acuda. Thoughts?
My husband and I went to The Beach House on our honeymoon and it was exceptionally beautiful. The view was unreal and the food was delicious. It felt a touch touristy, but it was still really lovely and one of the highlights of our trip.
My fiance and I just returned this morning from a week in Kauai -- it's so amazing! The Beach House in in Koloa (south shore) and quite a drive from Hanalei (easily an hour with traffic). You might have better luck at either Kintaro or Hukilau Lanai, both in the Kapa'a area (still a drive, but half the distance to the south shore). We had great sushi at Kintaro one night, and I believe they have a small private room. Also, we heard great things about Hanalei Dolphin, though I don't know if they have rooms for rent. Best of luck -- and enjoy!
I live on Maui, and I love Hanalei Bay. My friend had her reception at the Bali Hai restaurant at Hanalei Bay Resort. It was gorgeous. I think they rented out the entire restaurant, but they may have a room available. Their website is www.hanaleibayresort.com, and their phone number is 808-826-6522. People here are generally pretty nice, so if they can't help you, don't hesitate to ask for a referral.
Also, I know my friends looked at the Hanalei Colony Resort, which is nice. Check in Princeville, too - there are a bunch of places there and it's only about 15 minutes from Hanalei. I wouldn't recommend having a reception in Kapa'a or Koloa after a ceremony in Hanalei - it can be a very long drive depending on the traffic. Good luck!
