I’m sure there will be a few posts here about how I should have shopped elsewhere but hindsight is 20/20.
Anyway, I purchased an upgrade ring from Kay a few weeks ago and sent it out to be sized. When it came back almost a week late, I wore the ring for a few weeks and decided that it was not my dream ring so I returned it. I then purchased my LeVian set and had it sent out for sizing. The promise date on the return was today and once again it isn’t back. I’m beyond frustrated with this company.
Sorry there isn’t much of a point to this except to vent!

It could be that particular Kay’s. I sent my rings out to be sized and got them back a week early (this past Friday). I’m sorry you’re having issues, though. It sucks to not have your rings.

That sucks! I guess if you have to go with a chain jewelry place, pick Jared. At least their repair place is on site and they can do most things at the store.

The problem may be that the staff is not giving you an appropriate estimate of time. I shop at Peoples (affiliated with Kays I believe). Another chain store anyway, and they have been amazing for the past 2 years I’ve been shopping there. There are peak times, such as Valentine’s day, Christmas, mother’s day, etc., when it takes longer to do sizing. Mine usually come in a few days early or right on time. Too bad they are not holding up to the promises they make you! Sucks…

Eh, my ring is from Kay. The staff at our store is pretty great, especially the guy that we ended up working with (and try to work with when we go in there). It does take forever to get stuff back (2 weeks), but each store/region has a place they send their stuff to. I know my ring was a full size too big when he proposed (my fault), but it was right around Valentine’s Day and he told us to wait until x date to bring it in so that we weren’t stuck in the backlog.

Well I spoke with a manager this afternoon and they promised it was being overnighted and that it would be at the store tomorrow. I guess my real frustration is with the length of time that it takes them to do anything. I’ve waited almost 20 days this time and last time it was almost a month. I’m glad to hear that others have had better luck. Next time I need something done to my ring I may try a different store.
FWIW- We chose Kay because DH’s job moves us quite frequently. We wanted a jeweler that was national so warranty work would be able to be performed.

@Joleenmarie0617: we didn’t have very much luck with kay’s AT all, FI ended up having to call their corporate center…needless to say, they will never get our business again.
