I love the bubble hem on that dress, it is so interesting. I vote you keep it.
PS, you look amazing in the dress.
Out of curiosity why do you want to remove the bubble hem? Is there something about it you don't like?
I think that dress would look mighty strange without the original hem... big mistake! It's lovely as it is!
I think straight hems look very strange on dresses with that sort of diagonal gathering/pickups. You look fabulous in your dress. I vote that the bubble hem stays.
I've not seen that type of dress with a straight hem so it's hard for me to imagine. However, I do think that the bubble hem suits the dress better than what a straight hem would. It makes the fabric appear draped and it looks very pretty with the diagonal flow.
I think it will look unfinished if you remove the b-hem... because of the style of the dress, I believe it "needs" the bubble hem.. Besides, it doesn´t really look like a bubble at all, it just gives it a softer end. So I would keep the bubble hem.
I normally really don't like bubble hems but this looks awesome - the material flows perfectly and you look amazing. I vote keep it!
If you don't like how much it's ballooning at the bottom, mention it to your seamstress, so she can steam it a bit flatter for you, before you get it back to wear for your wedding.
I wore a simlar dress and I agree with the PP that the hem is really what makes it!
Just wanted to say, you look great in the dress!! Makes me wonder if I should keep mine after all ;)
I think the hem is what makes the dress flow so awesome :) It looks fabulous and you are rocking it ! I say keep it !
I'm not typically a fan of the bubble hem but it looks really nice with that dress! I say keep it.
Keep it, it looks great and you look stunning in this dress!
The dress is perfect the way it si. IMO I think if you remove the hem you'd ruin the dress.
i cant imagine what it would look like with a straight hem. i think its lovely as it is, i vote keep it as you look really pretty in it.
I think it looks great. What don't you like about the bubble hem?
If you remove the bubble hem your dress is going to look completely different then it does now. I would talk to your alterations person and ask their thoughts on it before making a decision. I have a feeling that that may not even be possible with that dress. The bubble look was obviously the look they were going for so I would think that if you removed it the fabric would fall flat and awkward. Just my opinion. I vote to keep it! :)
Thanks ladies! You all have such great advice.
I originally didn't like how "bubbly" it was- especially towards the bottom. But after trying it again, I couldn't picture it any other way :)
oh, its beautiful and doesnt look like a bubble to me! I know a girl that wore a dress almost just like this with this kind of hem and it looked incredible on her!! I think your dress looks so pretty in the picture.. dont change it!
it looks gorgeous as is! I love a buble hem...it screams bridal!
Funny, when I first clicked on this I expected to say get rid of the bubble, I usually despise bubbles....but then I saw the picture and it TOTALLY works for this dress!
I don't like bubble hems and I think it'll look gourgeous straight, however it does look good with the bubble.
