Since you aren’t attached, I would sell it. A little extra money isn’t bad, and it’ll be more space in your closet.

Plus, I’m sure some bride would LOVE to have it.

ETA since poll was added : I am personally keeping my dress, either framing it, or turning it into some type of framed artwork or jewelry holder.

I’m 100% planning to sell it when I’m done with mine. Even though it is a beautiful dress and I love it, I’m not interested in having something I’ll never use again taking up space in my home. I’ve got enough stuff lol!

@bmo88:  If I was to get the whole thing framed, I would get it done professionally. If I only get the bodice done, I’ll probably do it myself, there are alot of tutorials on the web for doing it yourself.

There’s no point me selling my dress as nobody else would want it (my dress was navy blue and basically to my tastes only).

But if I were in your position, unless I really needed the money I think I’d probably want to donate it to Brides Against Breast Cancer and share some good karma:

@clairebbbear:  I was going to suggest the same!

@bmo88:  I’d consider donating to brides against breast cancer. I went to an event today with two of my engaged friends…and they both bought dresses!

@bmo88:  It could well do, but I am in Australia and we don’t have Brides Against Breast Cancer here.

But we do have a thing where you can donate dresses for school formals so I will keep that in mind – thanks!

I had two: my reception dress I am going to dye so that I can rewear it! I am thinking navy or a dark red…I go to galas for my job so I can wear it to 2-3 more!!

Mine I am keeping.. It might be cool to frame it but I might keep it for a future dayghter juuust in case she might want to use part of it or something!

in your case I voted sell it (or donate) since you’re not super attached?

If you dyed it a different colour (assuming it can be dyed – some fabrics can’t), would you realistically wear it again?

If not, I would probably resell it. Future generations are unlikely to want to wear our dresses, I think (judging from our views on dresses from the 1970s-1980s).

You do what’s best for you. If you’re not attached to it, I don’t think you’d be bothered getting rid of it.

I, on the other hand, couldn’t see letting someone else wear mine, let alone sell it.

I donated mine to Brides Against Breast Cancer.  But I can’t tell you what you should do 🙂
