I need a bright idea from someone who did their own centerpieces..
I have more than 200 (yup, 200) candle bases/cylinder vases for pillar candles for my centerpieces. Right now, many of them are cloudy, dusty dirty from being in their packing containers.
I have to clean/wash them before bringing them to my venue – before they are on the tables.
Unfortunately, I have to put them back in those packing containers to safely make it to the venue without breaking.
Any good ideas to keep them clean?

@dragonlover: get a redic amount of grocery (plastic) bags and wrap each one? might need to remove some of the shipping material though.

@suburbian: For my daughter’s reception, I put on gloves when handling the vases to keep them fingerprint free. A bit of a PIA, but it was worth it after cleaning them.

@dragonlover: I would get some wine or liquor boxes for storage (or use the boxes the vases were shipped in ). I would remove the divider cardboard and line each box with a huge plastic bag or dry cleaning bag. Replace the cradboard divider. Store the vases, wrapping with plain paper if necessary for stability. Gather the top of the plastic bag and tie it in a knot to keep all dust out. Don’t forget to label the boxes.

@suburbian: Hmmm.. I have a bunch at my new apartment.
@julies1949: Good idea… I never thought of that – it protects them from the dusty/cardboard particles.

We put all of our glass wear into storage tubs, we lined the bottom & around them with old towels, and then wrapped each one individually with bubble wrap.
