I think that's really a great idea!! so it would be an entirely new experience for him (new isn't the exact word i'm looking for, but you get my gist, he'd be surprised by everything, seeing you in your dress, hearing the music, the entire experience would be amazing.)
Not crazy at all. It sounds really sweet and thoughtful.
Of course now you must share which song you're thinking about.
Lol, okay, y'all might think I'm a total loon.
It's Arrival of the Queen of Sheba from Handel's Solomon.
When I reminded my mother of the song, she about fell over out of YES YES YES.We would hire horns and woodwinds just because of this song. We already have violins and a cello. So yeah, it would be like big surprise... WHERE DID ALL THESE INSTRUMENTS COME FROM! lol
That sounds so cool! I love a grand entrance. But be prepared that after the wedding, if you ask him about it, he might not really remember the specifics. That moment of the wedding is such a blur! Really grand music will make for such a great feeling for both of you, but just remember that he will probably be so blown away seeing you that he might be a little dopey about recalling the music later.
My FI knows the music at the church but I'm keeping our first dance a secret from him haha
Great idea! It shouldn't be too hard to keep this under wraps. My FI is pretty involved and I don't think he would even think to ask about the processional.
I think that would be oh-mazing! Truly epic. :) It makes me think of Keira Knightley's wedding in Love Actually when there are all these musicians popping out of the pews like daisies.
I think that'd be perfect! And pretty easy to keep a secret. I think it would make for a wonderful moment.
@gidgett- Helloooo my inspiration! We're not allowed to have secular music, or you'd better believe that there would be something like that at our wedding.
I really am glad you guys don't think I'm weird for thinking of doing this.
I'm pretty sure ceremony music will be an easy thing for me to surprise him with. Or ceremony stuff in general. I'm good at being sneaky. :)
If you are a good secret keeper, yes! I am terrible at it (esp from my FI so it wouldn't pan out...) lol.
I love the idea, and I would have done it if I could have kept my mouth shut. ;) But I wanted his approval!
I love secret wedding details!! So I think you should definitely do it. Just make sure to have a stand-in for the rehearsal, if you're planning to practice with musical cues. Fun idea!! :)
Are you doing a "first look" with him before the ceremony? If not, it might be a bit much for him to take in all at once. Seeing you for the first time, his wedding day, the music, wondering where all the instruments came from. I absolutely LOVE the idea and think you should do it, but if you aren't doing a "first look" I'd at least entertain the possibility of one.
i looooove that song. one of my favourite classical pieces by far, and an awesome choice! congratulations :)

Beekeeper
So, I was thinking about keeping the processional music a secret from my fiance. (Like, the part of it where I walk down [or up?!] the aisle with my father to meet him at the altar).
Is this crazy? For some reason I just want him to be surprised because the piece that I'm considering is way epic, imho, both in title and in pomp. :p
