I have several friends that move frequently or take temporary travel assignments all over the place. I’ve sent out my Save-The-Date Cards, but when it comes time to send invites, some of their addresses may have changed. Even though I have many of these people on my facebook, they don’t always announce when they’ve moved. Is it their job to let me know if they’ve had a change of address, or should I ask everyone on my guest list for their current addresses again before I send invites?

I have a few friends that moved, and none of them sent formal change of address cards. Technically I think address cards from the moving party are the proper thing. I just happened to notice on facebook and asked for the new addresses.

@atalante: Yeah, I was kind of wondering because people don’t always forward their mail from the post office (especially when they’re on 2-3 month assignments at different places). But they’re gone long enough that they might miss receiving their invite and the wedding.

I wouldn’t ask everyone; just ask the ones you know who move a lot!

You should ask everyone for their current addresses, it will save you having to deal with having invitations returned and having to pay postage more than once.

Do I ask again when getting ready to send out thank you cards, also?? lol

If they notify the post office after the move then the invitations will be forwarded to their new address.

You could just shoot them a quick note asking if their address has changed since you sent out the Save-The-Date Cards. That’s what I did.

Yeah, I think you should just ask the ones you’re unsure of. That’s what I did!
