I’m a new bee here! My favorite hobby the past several months has been reading the Waiting boards. I’ve by no means been waiting for years or anything. I do feel ready, however I realize I’ll probably be waiting for a while, and I’m okay with that, and I’m enjoying our relationship. I am 27 and have been with my sweetheart for almost a year now officially. We were friends about 4 or 5 months before starting to date. We are not living together, and he is aware that I won’t live with anyone until I am married. We have discussed that we are both dating towards marriage, and if at any point we see things not headed in that direction we won’t continue with our relationship. He says he feels good about where things are heading. That has really been the extent of marriage discussion pertaining to us, other than hypothetical things we are looking for, things we want, etc.
Anyways…Recently to get marriage/dreams of starting a life together/ hopes of a proposal coming soon, I’ve come up with some things to keep myself busy. I read quite a few posts pertaining to Mr. Bees plan, and while I don’t really know if I want to commit to saying I’m doing a plan, I do feel like I came away with a few good ideas and some inspiration. So here are a few of the things I’ve done recently:
-I recently went on an extended trip. It was perfect and relaxing. It felt like things were getting a bit routine for us before I left, so it was perfect timing for me to just get away. It gave me a lot of time to think about and evaluate the things that I want, and what I wanted to start doing with my time when I got back. He was so excited to see me when I got back and couldn’t stop saying how much he missed me.
-My first week of being back, I typed up a 5 month goal list. I made it pretty and visually appealing. I typed up all of the things I want to accomplish by December. Some of the things included: Working on DIY projects I’ve wanted to get done, finally starting my blog, reading 1-2 books a month, stop biting my nails, save up for a new couch, plan a trip for next spring, finish decorating my extra bedroom and the list goes on. Who knows if I will accomplish all of the goals I made, but I felt like having them up on a pretty piece of paper, posted on my refrigerator, I will be motivated to accomplish them. Then I can start over in January!
-I’m also a very independent person. I finished college, started working, moved forward in my company, and made a big career move. When I turned 25 and felt so excited about accomplishing these goals i had set for my life, I wanted to buy myself a diamond solitaire necklace. I never ended up purchasing one. So now I’ve decided to start setting a bit aside each month to work towards buying it for myself. It’s something exciting for me to look forward to because of what it represents, and it’s my first nice piece of jewelry!
Can’t believe I finally posted on here, but I was too excited not to share my ideas! Anyone else have ideas for how you’ve been keeping busy and living your life to the fullest?!
