Hey Everyone!! I’ve been trying on dresses for almost two months now, and I want to get your opinion on these Kenneth Pool dresses!! I want to go for the romantic look!
Between the two dresses below — Amour (left) and Joyous (right), which one do you think looks better and will be flattering? They are similar except for the waistline. For reference, I’m 5″3, 110lb, planning to wear 3-4 inch heels. Wedding in the summer but will be indoors (ceremony&reception) with photoshoot outside.
Or maybe you’ve seen a similar dress? I actually really like lace as well, but couldn’t find one that is the same shape with tulle/organza, lace triming and some bling.
If available please post pictures of these dresses or similar!!!

So cute! I’m usually a fan of dropped-waist dresses, but I love love love the first one more than the second one.

I personally prefer the first one (Amour) just because I like that silhouette better–I think it’s more timeless than the dropped waist. But they are both beautiful dresses. They are so similar that it’s hard to choose between them. I’d say if your wedding is more modern/formal/party inspired that I’d go with the second one. If your wedding is more timeless/romantic/and ‘pretty’ I’d go with the first.
Do you have pictures of yourself in these?

#3, shows the figure a lil more. but do love both.

@kala_way: Completely agree with you. I prefer a drop waist myself, however, the first dress strikes a more romantic chord with me.
OP – I’m sure you will look lovely in either one.

Thanks for your comments so far! Unfortunately I don’t have picture of myself in the dresses. I do think Amour has a more classic shape but Joyous has more defined waist, almost make it look skinner. Which one looks taller? Probably the Amore? I also think the sweetheart of the Joyous is a bit more flattering than the Amore (less deep/wide)?

I love both, little bit more fond of the Amore only because drop waists do not look good on me! : ) However, I’ll try to find the thread, another bee has the Joyous.

Here’s that thread, she looks beautiful in her dress (she ultimately chose it), her pic is before alterations.
Hopefully this will help you!
Maggie Sottero or Kenneth Pool?..Ughh so confused..Help!

What about Blue by Enzoani Darwin? It has the fun waist bling AND some lace on the skirt! I always wanted to try this one but never did. And I love how the waist bling goes down in the back!!! 🙂

@iheartbora: Normally I would prefer the silhouette in #1, but I’m thinking that because you’re so petite, the dropped waist might actually look better than you–the first may overpower you or make you look like a cupcake, lol. It’s hard to tell without pics, though. Have you tried on similar silhouettes? Do you have pictures of yourself in the gowns or similar gowns?

I agree the Darwin is lovely!! But I haven’t found a salon that have the dress. BUT I did try on the Dalby, my sister loved it but I thought the top looked very “flat” as if it’s not very 3 diminsional…LOL if you know what I mean. I like the 2-tire skirt but not sure if it’ll make me look shorter?

Here is a pictures of myself in a similar style dress but it’s an A-line with much less layers than the KP dresses (I like it poofier but not to the point where I look like a cupcake). Note…This dress is 6 sizes too big for me, so the bust area is completely out of proportion, I’m not nearly as busty!
This is me in a drop waist dress, again, this dress is not as poofy as the KP, and completely different material, but you get the idea…
What do you think? Which shape looks better?

I am selling my Kenneth Pool gown which is similar to the ones you posted, but more fitted. Perhaps you maybe interested?
It is a one of a kind gown called Embrace. You’ll see my post in the classified section 🙂
