I was in LaGrange over the weekend and stumbled upon The Couture Closet Boutique. I walked in to look around and walked out with a Winnie Couture dress! Crazy how it all happened really but even though I was a walk in without an official VIP treatment appointment I was treated as if I was the only bride there. LOVE the place and recommend it highly!
I got mine at Bridal Warehouse cause they were the only ones who had the dress. I wouldn't recomend that place to anyone.
The Couture Closet, it is fabulous!!!! Lauren & Tera, the owners, are both super sweet and so patient when I was indecisive!
Davids Bridal in Clarksville. I went to Bridal Warehouse as well - their website doesnt match their selection. I loved the girls at the DB over here.
I've shopped at Rebecca's, The Couture Closet, and the Bridal Suite. Currently deciding between two dresses at Rebecca's and one at the Bridal Suite.
The Couture Closet was lovely and the owners are so nice and helpful, but they didn't have exactly what I was looking for. Although, one of my friends did just buy her dress there. They only make appointments for one bride at a time, so you have the whole shop to yourselves and they have a huge changing room with a ceiling fan, SO nice to have because I got so hot! They were also very hospitable to my little entourage. Also, if you are a referral from another bride, you get $100 off your dress and that bride gets $50, FYI.
I absolutely loved Rebecca's and have been there twice now. Both ladies who helped me were awesome and other employees also popped in to tell me when I tried something on that they loved. Their fitting rooms are pretty small, and sometimes they can get VERY busy, but I have had good experiences both times. A friend of mine had a bad experience (I think it was too crowded and busy when she went). Both ladies made me feel amazing and listened and really understood my style.
The Bridal Suite had a nice selection, but does not allow you to take pictures, which is a bummer for someone as indecisive as I am. I wouldn't say I had a bad experience here, but I did feel like it wasn't as good as the other places. I think the girl who helped me tried, but the two girls I talked to seemed a bit more inexperienced maybe? They were incredibly nice, but I guess I just didn't click with them and they didn't really seem to understand my style. Points for effort though. The dresses were gorgeous. The fitting rooms were reasonably sized.
@Renee37: How did your appointment go?
I found a few dresses that I liked but they just werent the ones I liked when I was on the site, and they didnt have the styles that I did like from the site. I was also shocked when I got an email a few weeks ago that they were hiring... Apparently they use their customer list as their employee referral list too.. Not sure if Im a fan of that.
@MrsGibby2Bee: After my experience at Bridal Warehouse I don't want to enter another Bridal Salon/Store. I know I should not come to that conclusion after one experience though :-) It was not what I expected, I made my appointment and listed the dresses I was interested in; needless to say they did not have any of the dresses I had listed. NB: I made the list based on their website. Also, I was just left there to go through racks of dresses on my own and was simply told to select 3 - 6 to try on. Their service sucks.
@Renee37: I went into Bridal Warehouse a few weeks ago because I wanted to get an idea of bridesmaids dresses and they carry Dessy dresses there. I walked over to the lady on the men's rental side and asked her a few questions about their tuxes and she was really snotty to me. I mean REALLY snotty and talked to me like I was a child and because they didn't carry what I was looking for (no satin therefore looking more like a suit), told me it didn't exist. I told her it actually did because I had seen them in person at Rebecca's Black Tie and walked away. So then I went over and browsed the bridesmaid dresses and pulled a few to try on. It was not until I was leaving that anyone on that side even said one word to me. There were maybe three other girls there at the time. They weren't too swamped to even ASK me if I needed help. Even if I had liked any of their dresses or tuxes, I would not have spent any money there after that treatment.
Went to David's Bridal in Louisville. Horrible experience. Bought the dress because I loved it. Hated to give them my $$ because they were friggin terrible.
