I've been wondering about these magical Keratin blow-outs for a while, and today found a great Groupon offer from a salon in my area.

I know you'll know, bees - is this treatment worth the (albeit reduced) price tag? Have you had a Keratin blowout? Any tips/advice?

My first official post!  I've been doing the keratin treatments for about 18 months now, and think it's the best money I've spent on a beauty treatment in awhile (closely followed by Shellac!).

YES! I just had my second "full" treatment and while it was super expensive, it is amazing.  The second did much more than the first.  I have curly hair that poofs up right when I walk out into the humidity and with this, it not only dries faster, it doesn't poof!  It also makes it easier to straighten, but I rarely do that.

    YES YES YES.

i just booked my 5th.  the fact that my hair is smooth and shiny after blow drying instead of rough and frizzy is astonishing to me. i also love that my hair is finally growing- without the need to flatiron every day, far less breakage!

I don't doubt there effectiveness, but please be aware of there potential health risks. These companies are lying to hairdressers faces saying they are formaldehyde free and tests show they arn't . I personally feel all hairdressers should make clients sign something stating the known effects of formaldehyde exposure , just so clients are aware of possible risks. I'm not trying to alarm anyone, the real risk is the hairdresser being exposed often. I'm a hairdresser and I would never expose myself or my clients that I love dearly to something that has caused harm.
