(Closed) Ketubah Signing

@maride363:  Well, the thing is that signing the ketubah is PART of the marriage ceremony (although it happens before you go down the aisle) so it’s unlikely your rabbi will be ok doing it a day before. Also, becauase of the prohibition against creating (and therefore against writing) on Shabbat your rabbi will probably nix signing anything on a Friday night after sunset.

Check with your rabbi and see what’s allowed.  But, I’d also say that ketubah signing pictures are usually super beautiful, its a really intimate moment and you may find that it is something you much prefer to do on the wedding day itself.

Technically you should not be signing anything on Friday night.  That being said, I went to a wedding where they signed there before Shabbat services on Friday.

We are sgining ours on Saturday evening right before our ceremony.
