My parents have one and it is awesome! I want one as I do not drink coffe and FI does. It creates such a mess and the Keurig is so nice and neat. Also, everyon can have the flavors they want, provided you keep different ones on hand. Costco is carrying the K-Cups by the case and it's a huge savings. My Mom also saves her Bed, Bath & Beyond coupons to use for the cups.
how exciting?! edited since i pushed the post button too quickly... i'd love to have a kitchen aid mixer and/or chinnna i would love china lol!!
My office used to have a Keurig and it was really cool; made delicious coffee! The only downside to them is they are not that eco friendly; every cup you make creates the trash of that little plastic 'filter' =(

I have a Keurig and love it.
@ Noelle-a-Belle: Keurig sells a re-usable cup that you can fill with any type of coffee (instead of buying prefilled cups). I have one and just use ground coffee from Starbucks.
We had that on ourr registry too. But then my mom got me a single cup coffee maker and I took the Kerig off the registry list. Our vet has one and I love making coffee there when my furry kids are being seen. =)
I've had the Keurig for a few years now...everyone in my family actually has one! My dad sells housewares and this is one of the items he sells, so he's gotten it for everyone. We all love it though. It's great even for those who don't drink coffee because you can do tea and hot cocoa too.
wow you girls just sold me on this! FI wants one but I thought it was silly since I thought you could only use their little cups. I don't drink coffee but I do drink tea! FI drinks coffee but not every morning so it would be nice to have something like that.
We have one at work and I love it! Did you go for the big or the little one? I love the Coffee People Donut Shop flavor which is always on sale on Amazon.
The title of this made me laugh cause it's such a funny name! I was thinking it was some kind of smoked fish... oh me, the silly non-coffee drinker.
@fanatic: We registered for the mid-sized one, because we wanted the tall travel mugs to fit.

We registered for a few of these "starbucks" looking travel mugs to go with, arent they cute? I'm so obsessed with hot drinks at the moment, probably because it's freeeeezing here.

We have one of those at work. It is really great in that you can get what you want, and you don't have to deal with messy coffee grounds or messy milk frothing. However, I can't get over how much waste those little packets make.
FMIL is getting us one for christmas! She just got one and is in love with it- it looks awesome- my current coffeemaker is the $7 model from Target and so I just can't wait! I like the fact that if you don't want to use those little cups they have a reusable one you can just fill with anything. It's more economical...
I love mine! I've been a Keurig converter for 2+ years now. We used the reusable -cup for awhile but got sick of washing it out. We now get our k-cups from BJ's...can't beat the price $35 for 80 kcups!

I'm not familiar with Keurigs but I definitely want to register for a coffee maker. Do all Keurigs basically just make one cup at a time? Does that mean it's not good for having guests over and serving coffee? Why are these better than regular coffee makers?
Keurigs are single serve cups of coffee. It's great for me and FH. I make coffee every day, he drinks it every once in awhile. It's great b.c you can buy whatever flavors you want so you are not obliged to make just one kind of coffee...however when we have company over, I usually break out the regular coffee pot.
@Tulip61110- it is a one-cup coffee maker so it only makes one cup at a time. However, I actually think it's good for having people over- it has a sort of novelty affect? What I mean is, when you buy cases of the one cup brew cups, they come in all these different flavors from different makers (like Newman's Own makes a bunch, and all these other companies, and you can get french roast, colombian, italian, etc) so it's really easy to give people variety and it's kind of fun to let your guests pick out what they each want :)
Plus, it brews pretty quickly, so it's not really all that time consuming.
Yes, they make one cup at a time. Cups can range in size, however, depending on the model you buy (according to my research)! They brew really fast though... and I know for my family, everyone likes different kinds of coffee, so everyone can pick their type/flavor and have their own fresh brewed cup :)
I was just going to add that, Blueshoes2! FMIL has the model where you can choose if you want a small, medium or large cup. Obviously the strength of the coffee is going to differ based on which one you pick but it's nice to have!

This post is making me so sad! I love my Keurig, but it BROKE this morning!!! I hope it is just a fluke and it will work tomorrow. So SAD. they are the best invention EVER. I seriously don't know how I lived w/o it.
FI has one and absolutely loves it! It's great because I don't drink coffee but he usually likes to start the day with a cup. There are so many different k-cups for sale and the option of using the filter is handy too.
OH - has anybody mentioned that they also have K-CUPS for hot chocolate and tea? This machine is genius!
We LOVE our Keurig. We atcually had a different coffee maker on our registry, but my SIL splurged on a Keurig for us instead. It's awesome!

We registered today, which was really fun :) Number one thing I want off of our list... Keurig coffee brewer! Anyone else have one? I think they are so cool!
