    @2beemrs:  I spent an entire holiday season demoing coffeemakers at BB&B.  After those glorious three months of fixing the one I demoed many times because it kept breaking and watching all the others have problems, I was given the option of keeping one machine (as my holiday completion gift) and I chose the Keurig hands down. Since then if I’m giving a coffeemaker it will always be a Keurig.

    I would go with the Keurig only because I see the pods for them everywhere and with so many flavor options.

    I have the Keurig V500 & in my opinion, it’s the best machine on the market for the price. The only thing is that the cups you put in in are not k-cups, they use these new “vue cups.” However, we bought an attachment called the Solofill V2 that allows us to brew k-cups & regular coffee grounds.

    I have two…I have one of the cheapie models for regular coffee and I recently treated myself to the Rivo. It makes lattes, cappuccinos and espresso shots. I LOVE it!

    @Laurenplusalex:  Yup. Same

    Get it from costco if you can, best price by far, comes with all the extra’s! Mine also died a year in and they replaced it no problem.

    We have a Keurig and a Tassimo, and the Keurig gets used so much more. I find that there is more variety in terms of flavours and coffees that are available for it, compared with the Tassimo.

    @Laurenplusalex:  lol, SAME! And FH can have his stupid Tassimo machine.

    I had a Tassimo before my Keurig and I liked it, but it was a pain to find the pods for. My Keurig, however, is possibly my favorite possession and I second the poster that said she would marry hers.

    DEFINITELY the Keurig!

    DH and I recently upgraded from the mini one to the Platinum Edition one! So worth it.

    @2beemrs:  okay, so i am speaking as the 1 tassimo vote.   Tassimo populatiry can be described is the keurig of Canada.  I have a tassimo, i live in NY.  my mom has a keueig, and though it may be the first generations, but i dont find the temperature to be hot enough, and also you have to wait for the water to heatup.  My tassimo is so hot i have to take small sips at first (just how i prefer it) and if i put brandneww ater in the machine it doesnt take anytime to preheat, as in i pour the water in and press brew and it is instantly steaming water as if i boiled it on the sTove.

    Pros of the keurig: seems to be the leader in the us, best variety of beverages.  cons: not hotenough  (again, could be older models i have used), needs time to preheat.  No barcode method (see below)

    pros of tassimo: makes tim hortons lattes!! super hot brew with no preheating.  The barcode: tassimos use a barcode system, the machine reads a barcode on the beverage disc and it knows exactly what temperature, how much water and how long to hold in the grinds before dispensing.  to me, coffee from a tassimo tastes exactly like you get in store.

    hope i brought some tassimo love to this board!

    Keurig all the way!!!

    You can spank it if it misbehaves! Empty the h2o out, turn it upside down, give it a good whack! (It’ll make you feel better too, if ever you’ve waited for the thing to de scale and then it still wouldn’t work.) All better!

    Google spanking your Keurig. This funny advice made my machine like new, and my love for it couldn’t be stronger!
