I don't know of any vendor recs for you, I'm getting married in Miami. But, I did want to let you know that I used to have a house in Key Largo, and I think Islamorada would be a much BETTER destination wedding site than Key Largo :)
Did you check the Moorings?
I know they do a ton of fashion shoots there. May be too "chichi"- I haven't been there but everyone says its soooo wonderful.
Coconut Palm Inn, Dove Creek Lodge, Pelican Cove. Personally, I'd recommend a private residence/vacation rental, which is what I'm doing in Key Largo. Then you get it for the whole week, rather than just a few hours. It makes for more of an experience. Good luck!

Just wanted to give an update-- we are going to rent a private residence in Islamorada. It is so gorgeous-- more than I could have dreamed of! Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

No problem! I am working with Debbie at Carribbean Catering, and she has been a huge help in finding locations. Here is her website:

If you scroll down, there are several listing with vacation rentals that will do weddings. One thing is that they usually have a separate event fee, on top of the rental so that's something to be aware of.

Hello South Florida hive! I am planning a Keys destination wedding (hopefully Islamorada, though Key Largo is also in the mix) for next spring and I wondered if anyone here had any venue recs. We're going down to scout locations at the end of the month and so far we are going to visit a private residence, the Islander, Morada Bay Beach Cafe, and some other places (not sure which ones) with our potential planner.
If anyone has any ideas about places that are nice but not too chichi (Morada Bay will probably end up being too expensive for us), let me know! We are expecting around 100 guests-- a lot for destination, I know. Also, I'd love to hear of vendor recs if you have those too. Thanks!!
