I’m currently just over 200 lbs, maybe 205, which is my highest weight. I’m also very short at 5’1. Looking for a buddy to keep me accountable. I’ve lost weight in the past and just can’t seem to get into that state of mind again. The beginning is so hard for me. If anyone is also just starting (restarting) their journey,mid love to talk!
Im getting married December 2014 and would like to lose 40 or so lbs in the 9 months left.

kearaaaaaa: I am re-starting my workout and fitness stuff. After my wedding I gained weight through the holidays and ugh I’m unhappy! I started about three weeks ago and I’ve lost 4lbs about. It’s difficult but actually losing the weight has been a motivator. My husband is also working out, but I can’t express my female worries with him because he doesn’t get it. He just keeps reassuring me that I look great. I know I don’t, so that’s difficult dealing with that every day. I know he’s being awesome about it, but I’m trying to stay motivated to get better not look how I do now.

kearaaaaaa: I’ve lost 90 lbs (well I keep gaining 10 back and losing it and gaining it and losing it), but I would like to lose another 20-25 before the wedding (Januar 2015) and would definitely appreciate the additional support as well….

MrsNebraska: great job on the 4 lbs! I know personally how difficult even 4 lbs can be. That can be over a months effort sometimes. I agree about the husband thing. I mean, I know when my partner says similar things, he’s just trying to be nice and supportive in the way he think is best, but their saying we still look good, can be counter-productive or just plain frustrating! How are you doing so far? Best of luck!

Benjeweler: Did you start a food diary? I stopped and started and stopped, and started! I am 3 days going so far… I’m using myfitnesspal. It is hard to get the habit going… sometimes I honestly forget, and sometimes I just dont want to track what I’ve been eating because I’m ashamed or embarassed. But I guess that’s what it’s there for, the truth.

Just trying to keep myself accountable.. one week in and I’m glad to say that I’ve lost 200lbs. Was 202 last Saturday and 200 on the dot, yesterday. I’m pretty happy though I know that may be extra fluff I was carrying from all my binging this past month… I’m slowly getting better day by day, making healthier food choices and not eating as much… Really really struggling with the exercise part. I think I’ll do it,and delay.. and delay… I’ll even get dressed… and then what? Nothing… it’s sad, I know…. working on it.

Well done, that is fab. I am also trying to lose weight…I have been at this weight for the last year and really need a kick up the butt to get it moving down again! I know what you mean about exercise, I really can’t get motivated to do it at all…why don’t we make a deal, by next Saturday we will have done 2 bits of exercise? Whether it’s a walk, cycle, gym class, exercise video etc?

Here I am..I don’t have a wedding coming up,but I need to lose the weight I gained back after losing it all last winter,after the end of my marriage..I was down to 123 and I’m now back at 138…while I’m still not as heavy as I was up until 2012 (148),and definitely much lighter than my heaviest (187),I’m still uncomfortable,and I want to feel confident this coming summer.My goal is 121.

I got lazy after my wedding and gained almost 20 pounds :/ I can hardly believe it’s that much!! Trying to get back on track as summer approaches (plus I have a couple half marathons in June, eek!).

- Wedding: October 2014 - Cape May
I could use agood kick in the butt before my October wedding. Currently at my heaviest which is 192. My goal is 165. For now I’ve been trying to cook more meals at home even though late work nights keep us lazy and eating junk, and have traded my usual beverages for water. I gained a ton of weight after moving in together- we both did. But this weight bothers me. Needs to come off- grrrr.

Hi, I also am trying to lose weight! I am 5’6 and about 205 lbs. I would like to lose 40-50 lbs. I have lost a lot of weight in the past simply by counting calories and going to the gym a lot. I gained it back, obviously- I reverted to old eating habits and stopped working out. (Isn’t it sad how much work it is to lose weight, but how easy it is to gain it back?!) My primary motivations for losing weight is mostly to improve my health and feel happier and more confident. My husband and I also hope to TTC in a few years, and being at a healthy weight would really help that. I know this time around, it is going to be harder to lose weight because I am dealing with some health issues that can impact how/ if I can work out. However, I am hoping with perseverance I can do it.
Best of luck to everyone on their weight loss journey! Maybe we could start an email chain or something as a way to connect frequently about weight loss issues?

I’m 5’7 and 150 pounds. I gained 30 pounds in the last year and a half. I’ll be happy if I can get back to 130. This is very different for me, as I’ve always been waifishly thin. But being happy and in love is much better than being skinny and miserable!

kearaaaaaa: I’d love to be your weight loss buddy! I’m the same height as you, as I was around 195 at my heaviest about a year ago. I’ve lost about 40 pounds in the past year, but it’s been very slow, and I’d like to lose about 20 more and keep it off for my wedding next April.

Strawberryshmoo: We have similar goals! I’d love to get around there in time for my wedding in December. I can relate about gaining weight living together. It’s that cuddly/lazy nature that is so fun but SO BAD for the figure… And difficult work schedules are so hard… I try to eat ‘regularly’ but if you don’t have a regular schedule, it doesn’t always work out!

If others are interested, I’d love to be a part of something like that… my partner and I are also hoping to start trying maybe in 2 years… so I’d like to be in tip top shape for that too.. sarahalthea: True, happy and in love!!! Isn’t that what everyone wants? Thin is just a nice add on, but happy is much more important. I guess, sometimes I/we (as a people) can get distracted by a dream body, but we all have lots to be thankful for too. But a healthy body is good too 😛
