Do you happen to have a link to Mr. Bee’s post? I’m really interested in it!

I actually don’t do anything, well hardly anything, to “keep up” myself. Sure I shave my legs, underarms and tweeze my eyebrows but that is pretty much about it. And I wash my hair too, lol.

I would like to do more for myself, but I never know what to do!

@LondonAmericana: OH! Ok, gotcha. πŸ™‚ Thanks for the clarification. It is hard to keep up with ourselves, and I imagine especially for you doing all the school/visa/etc work. Random question, are you from London? I assume either you or your SO is, judging by your username, haha.

I’d like to start working out more. I already drink a crap-ton of water a day, and don’t smoke or drink heavily.

@LondonAmericana: How neat! I absolutely LOVE London! Definitely one of my favorite cities I’ve visited. πŸ™‚ I just love to sit and listen to them talk just for their accent, haha!

@LondonAmericana: Great thread!

Well for me… I’ve been trying to grow my hair as long as humanly possible, so I’ve been treating my hair like fine lace lately and I’m finally starting to notice a difference. Also, I have been changing up my style with regards to makeup and clothing (wearing clothes that I’d normally stay away from). I dunno… That’s just about it really. Today my co-worker said that I looked ‘hot’, and a few of the students in our office thought so as well, lol. Um, ok! Thanks! I must be doing something right, lol. It’s nice to get that little boost of confidence once in a while. It gives me motivation to keep up with what I’m doing and it makes me happy.

Gwen.

Weight loss! I’m also turning 30 pretty soon so for my a big goal is to head into my new decade healthy and confident. I want to make good habits now and take them with me. πŸ™‚

It’s a lot of portion control, adding veggies to meals, making better choices when out, and exercise. I’m feeling pretty good about all of it.

I’m also spending way more money on clothes then I ever have before in my life! Which is maybe a little wrong considering I’m hoping to lose a couple sizes–but a lot of it is shoes and sweaters etc. Just trying to go for a little more of a polished look. πŸ™‚

  • Losing ten pounds by the end of the year while no longer obsessing about body image and weight issues in the meantime
  • Growing my hair out from an awful cut that I got in Feburary
  • Buying myself nice clothes and shoes (that I can afford, no worries)
  • Taking time to fix my foot injury so that I can train for the half-marathon that I have always wanted to run (Charlotte 2011!!!)
  • Taking a vacation weekend here and there to spend time with bf
  • Mani/pedi/massage/waxes
  • Taking good care of my skin (I always do this)

Oh you are a bit more ambitious than me about daily activities.  I’m a low maintenance kind of gal, which fortunately my SO actually likes.  For me, looking good would mean:

– Getting nails done more regularly.  I usually do them myself, or have them done by trainees at a local salon for free, but I’m expecting a proposal in two weeks so I’m working on growing my fingernails so I can get a French manicure professionally done – maybe try out the shellac so they stay pretty for a while

– Wearing makeup more regularly

– Wearing jewelry (earrings) more regularly

– Dressing a notch up

– Contacts in every day, no getting lazy with glasses

– Getting into a regular skincare routine.  This is the key one on the list for me, because I’ve been told I have PCOS, which causes acne (yes, acne, post 30!) and I need to get into a better routine of skincare that might stop the occassional breakouts.

– All of this reminds me I am overdue to tweeze my eyebrows

But that’s exterior – I think the other part, of taking up activities you love, is more important (and fun!)
