Many of you have mentioned going on Mr. Bee’s plan and taking steps to be at your best, taking a little time out for self-care, keeping up high standards for personal grooming, etc. Since Mr. Bee doesn’t go into nitty-gritty details about what that could mean, I would like to unpack that idea a little bit more. My question is, what steps do you take? What do you think is necessary to be at your best? What would you *like* to start doing that you haven’t done to actually make this part of “the plan” a reality?
I’m currently TEMPTED to get off track because I am under the gun and on a weird schedule. I’m finishing a huge dissertation, studying for an exam, sorting out visas, working part time, and looking for a full time job. It’s this exact time when I tend to put looking my best and self-care on the back burner. But I know I’ll regret it and feel gross if I do that. And it’s not just about my SO — it’s also about me feeling good & knowing I’m staying calm, cool and collected despite stress.
SO, bees, what are the things you like to do to keep yourself looking and feeling well-groomed and at your best? Do you have separate or “extra” stuff you do for special occasions?
Here’s my casual, every-day list of what i think I should always keep up:
– mani & pedi
– makeup (mascara, eyeshadow, gloss, concealer)
– whiten teeth (I had trays made and bought whitener at the dentist)
– cut hair & get low or hi lights every 2 months
– work out daily for 30 – 60 minutes
– shaving & waxing legs & underarms
– keeping up tan
(the things that tend to go by the wayside are the daily workout (becomes every other day), shaving legs (sometimes I just wear jeans for the day!), keeping up the tan (because i’m writing my paper inside) . .. that’s about it!
Here’s my list of “special occasion” stuff I’d like to do / try to be well-groomed at a nice event:
– spray tan
– eyelash extensions
– eyebrows tinted
