Let me start by saying that out of our 71 guest 27 are children, also I own a party rental business and have many “friendors” & own all the rental equipment we will be using such as tables, chairs, linen, utensils, but I also own bounce houses.
With that being said, I’m having the wedding at my home, we have a large lawn area where the tent will be set up, the dance floor, and dj. The pool area will be used as the open bar and buffet will be served in the kitchen, photo booth, guest book, and cookie station will be set up in our living room (all furniture will be taken to the garage). I also have a large area available on the other side of the pool where I was planning to set up the bounce house for the children, setting up an arts and craft table with wedding theme crafts, and having a magician come after all the big things are done (ceremony, cake cutting, first dance).
Do you think these ideas will work well at a wedding? What ideas and activities did you use to entertain the children at your wedding? The children’s ages range from 2-16.

@MrsPocahontas: sounds like you got all of your bases covered. are you going to have someone looking after the children in the bouncy house? i would be concerned about children near the pool too. maybe you can hire a few babysitters to keep an eye on the kids and keep them all safe.
keep the children’s area confined. i would try to keep all of the children’s activities in one area so that they won’t be running from the craft area through the party to the bouncy house. keep them away from the pool. kids get so excited so i can see a running. i would also put the bouncy house out of view from the rest of my wedding guests (if you have the space).

@mypinkshoes: all our baby sitters will be at the wedding so that shouldn’t be a problem. Also the bounce house will be away from the wedding in the open lawn area in the opposite side of the pool but it is screened in so we should not have kids running around it. There will also be a hired bartender at the bar area at the pool so no area will ever be unattended at any time. thanks for your concerns!
