@melitabonita:  I know some 12 year olds that eat more like an adult. Even my caterer told me that his 12 year old son would not have enough food that comes on a childs meal. I would suggest 9 and under as that’s what I am doing at our wedding.

@melitabonita:  We left it up to parents– they pretty much decided 12 and under. However, we had the same problem that there wasn’t enough food and the big kids ate the little kids food, so we had to order more at the last minute (thanks nephews)

Ah, the benefits of a buffet… Seriously, this is one of the reasons I picked a buffet. Everyone will have the same food but the kids 10 and under I pay half price. Everyone can get however much food they want.

I only had five kids and I just called the parents amd told them a kids meal was an option but they did not have to have it.

If you are putting the kids meal as an option on the rsvp then let the parents decide.

@melitabonita:  I’m leaving it up to the parents for the most part. I did a thread like this and lots of folks said under 10 was best for kid’s meals.

We only have 5 kids attending, so I gave their parents the choice. The 10 year old is getting the buffet, the 2.5 year olds are just eating off of their parents’ plates, and the other two toddlers are getting the kids’ meals.
