Kind of a weird question, but how to dress up the floor?

Our wedding will take place at my parent's house. We are planning to do the ceremony on the front porch. It is really beautiful. Their home is a victorian farm house, and the large porch is complete with columns and pretty railings.

Picture a front porch, over looking a spectacular view of the Catskill Mountains, pretty, sheer fabric draped like curtains along the railings, and beautiful fluffy flowers decorating the ceremony site.

Then. Dunh, dunh, dunh. The guests are seated on stark blacktop.

The chairs will be set up on the driveway, but I feel like it is such an ugly floor. (My brother got married here too, and held the ceremony under a maple tree, and the guests were seated on grass, so much better, but I don't want to go the same route as them.)

Now, how can I dress up the floor?

There will be 200 chairs, so they will certainly take up some of the space, and we will definitely have a runner... But is there any way to make a driveway seem less harsh?

Flower petals scattered everywhere? Im not crazy about that idea...

     Help!

Ok, I saw a painted blacktop somewhere on one of the wedding blogs. It was really pretty. It was washable paint, so it wasn't permanent or anything, but it might work for what you want. I honestly wouldn't worry about it since there will be a runner and tons of chairs. But, if you want, take a look around all the popular wedding blogs {SMP, Snippet and Ink, Brooklyn Bride} and you'll find it I bet. GL!

How about adding a ton of potted plants/flowers outlining the seating and the aisle? That may be enough to distract the eye from the blacktop.

Yeah, hopefully the presence of candles, plants and flowers will be enough!

How about Rangoli? It's Indian sandpainting. During Diwali, it's a symbol of hospitality.

There is also a legend relating to marriage and the rangoli -

Hindu Legend: During the month of Maarkazhi, the Goddess Andal prayed to Lord Thirumal to marry her. Her wish came true and others also began to pray to have the husband of their dreams. During this month, unmarried women paint rangolis to welcome Lord Thirumal in hopes that they will have the same good fortune as Andal.

It's something different. You could even put a little paragraph in your programs about it. I'm sure you can find a tutorial online about how to make them.

Depends on the surface of the driveway but you could try vinyl lettering. Shop around but here's an example... http://www.wonderfulgraffitiwedding.com/ - they'll send you a sample to test.
