I had looked at that dress too, but it really wasn’t a dress that I thought very many of my bridesmaids would truely like. Maybe she was just trying to make small talk, what else can you say after you tell someone you can’t afford a dress to be in their wedding?

I think you are better off, if she truely dropped out just because she didn’t like the dress. Who knows what other issues she might have had closer to the wedding date.

Well I think it’s a really pretty dress, but I also think it’s a little silly that someone isn’t in your wedding anymore because they didn’t like the dress.

@lilperiwinkle — Just FYI, i actually ordered that dress (just to have) and usually waist dresses are my go-to style based on my body type, but this one DID make me look pregnant.  You may want to have your BMs try them on and make sure they/you feel comfortable with them before you are totally set.

It sucks, b/c it’s a REALLY pretty dress, but something about the way its made unfortunately is very unflattering–although empire dresses are usually super flattering.

@lilperiwinkle – It’s totally your choice what you want the girls to wear & I didn’t mean to suggest that you should change if its not as flattering as they would like.  I just wanted to flag that they may not be as cute on in some instances as the picture suggests.  In terms of getting it to fit, It wasn’t the “waist” part–that was actually pretty snug, but it ballooned out in a weird way.  Perhaps that is something that could be taken in, but its not immediately obvious to me how it would be.  It might fit fine on certain people (some of the reviews said that they felt it fit fine on them), but for others less-so.  However, even knowing how it fit, if I was asked to wear it, I would still just probably not bother to get it altered.  Even if I didn’t look the best that I possibly could, it still is good enough to wear through a day–it’s more about whether you think it will look how you want it to.

It was definitely cute.  I also got it on sale for like $60, and I was sad it didn’t fit better.  I had the magenta color, and it was more shiny/metallic looking than in the picture, but I am not sure if that would be true for the other colors as well.
