- Wedding: August 2013 - The Liberty House
I was facebook stalking some people in my spare time today and went to go look at my ex (from when I was 15) just because he’s a really nice guy and I wanted to make sure he’s doing fine… and I saw some pictures of him with this girl who looks EXACTLY like me. Like, same hair, same nose, same everything. Not even looks sort of like me- if someone showed me these pictures, I would get really confused because I don’t remember taking them.
I’m just kinda creeped out. She’s the only girl who is really in any pictures since high school and he’s in her profile picture. I have no real attachment to this ex, I just find it a little creepy that he went out and found someone who looks exactly like me to hang out with/ possibly date years after we broke up. It was SO awkward last time I saw him (which was this past december btw!), he had no idea what to say to me and it looked like he was completely not over it, 7 years later.
I know there’s nothing I can/would want to do about it, I just can’t stop thinking about it and I had to tell someone so of course the bee is the first place I turn! Has anyone ever dealt with this?

A couple years ago a girl who had had a thing for my SO way before I knew him (they were never together) was dating a guy that looked remarkably like him. It was kind of funny. No idea if they’re still togehter. I guess some people just have a really defined type.

One of my exes married a girl who is apparently my long-lost twin. My brother even did a double take when photos of them started popping up on FB. It didn’t help that my ex and I were still dating at the time. Needless to say, I think I got the better end of the deal. She got a cheater, I got my AWESOME fiance!

Why are you creeped out? You’re the one stalking him! Ha.
Furthermore, to assume him dating her has anything to do with you is just…weird.

I think we are attracted to certain physical qualities and end up seeking similar looking partners.

@MissFemmeFatale: ha, i was just about to type a very similar response

@MeiFrancis: Meh…he’s got a type, whatever…..one of my best friends is a retired lover from college, he dates women that look, act, sound like me and then tells me in great detail how they add up/fail….it’s just one of those things…
I’ve only ever dated men with facial hair and blue eyes….it’s a thing.

@MissFemmeFatale: Kind of agree with this.
Regardless, I don’t think there’s any reason to be creeped out about it. Maybe he has a “type”. If anything, take it as a compliment!

Haha my Fiance saw a picture of his ex somewhere with her new husband and their baby and her husband looked SO MUCH like my FI!! It was pretty funny.

I was “the clone” once! I was dating a guy, and Myspace (lol, a long time ago) his ex, and I was her twin! I got weirded out and ended up confronting him about it.
The whole thing made him realize he wasn’t over her, and now they’re happily married. I feel proud for helping them!

Ha! He clearly has a “type”! I have noticed that my exes date women who look a lot like me, and if any of my exes check out my FB page, they would notice that they have a lot of similar features to my FI!

P.S. – I was stalking another college flame, found out he’s a steampunk nerd = BULLET DODGED

@MeiFrancis: YES! He was a good friend prior to us seeing eachother, and we didnt date super long. We’ll call him Dan. Like 2 weeks after we called it off, he shows up at my work (I was a bartender at the time) with a girl who could have passed for my sister: at that time, my hair was still black and was cut in kind of Kris Jenner style, and so was this girls! He introduced us and I said “you have great taste in haircuts!” to which she replied “thank you! I actually just got it cut yesterday, took off 8 inches! Dan told me it would look great on me!”
They didnt date super long either and he and I stayed friends. At one point she came up in convo and I flat out asked him what the deal was with her hair, and he said “well, I’d liked that haircut alot on *you*, so I told her she’d look good with it and she did it.”

Maybe you were just his type? So other women that have similar attributes as you would be his type too…?

@MeiFrancis: aaah that happened to me, we broke up and he started dating her – she was tall, long brunette hair, even, had the same last name as me. no joke. they didnt last but i just took it as a compliment 🙂
