Honestly I think people are just putting off shopping. Any wedding or shower I've ever attended I've bought the gift like a day beforehand.
I snooped before my first shower (my "small" shower) and at the verrrrry end people started ordering a few things. I am also getting anxiety over my registry...but hopefully we keep getting things (invites for shower 2 go out this next week and I've got 2 months till the big day)...
I think people are just last minute and also keep in mind some people (especially older people) will probably get you things that ARN'T on your registry...this happened to me but luckily I liked most of it...and the stuff I didn't I exchanged hehe
in my experience most people don't go to get gifts off the registry until like 3 days before the party. don't worry!
A lot of people purchase right before the shower. Don't worry about it!
I wouldn't worry about it, I often only shop within a few days of an event, and occasionally I will pick something up the day of the shower/wedding ...
I am planning on not looking at the registry for 2 weeks before the shower, and having someone like my mom check it before the wedding in case we run out of stuff. Watching the registry will make you crazy!!
my wedding is june 5th, 6 weeks from tomorrow... and i've been srpying, but we have only had one purchase, and i was months ago!! i feel ya, but know that you have more than me:)
Thanks ladies, that is good to hear. I am a "do-er" and i seriously get gifts weeks in advance when I know a specific event is coming up. My MOH said not many people have rsvp'd to the shower and the rsvp date for that is on the 29th, so idk, im just nervous that itll be like 5 people, when i invited 20 lol. I just want it to be special, its MY day, and it will be my only shower, so it means a lot to me.
i don't get to have a bridal shower, cause my bridal party sucks mostly
that just depressed me... 43 days, end every registry says- gifts your getting! 0
Ohmigosh girls-- stop stalking your registries! You're gonna drive yourselves crazy, lol! 
people will not buy gifts until like, two days before. seriously. Sometimes the morning of. I'm totally guilty of picking up a gift ON MY WAY to the event.
Exactly the same for me-wedding is June 5 and 4 gifts have been bought! At least I'm not alone :)
People definitely wait until the last minute! Don't worry about it! :)
My shower is Sunday and today people started buying a ton of stuff. I bet they're all going shopping tomorrow. Everyone waits til the last minute with this stuff. I do it too.
I will have to agree with all the girls above, don't stress over it! To all the weddings/showers i have been, i would get my present 2-3 days before, unless there was something that i really wanted to get my friend and i knew she really wanted it i would get it the moment the registry was up!
People wait until the last minute. Plus, shower gifts are often non-registry gifts. But people aren't going to show up without gifts. Meanwhile, it'd probably be best to focus on how great it will be to get all your friends together and how wonderful it is that someone is throwing you a shower.
@ejs4y8 you are so right!!! I need to keep in mind that not everyone is a crazy type A like me who must have the gift weeks before the event lol
I've been known to buy a gift on the way to the shower and wrap it in my car. I wouldn't worry yet!
I'm so glad that when I got married years ago I couldn't even check on my registry. I think it takes the fun and suprise out of receiving gifts. I remember how much fun it was to come home each day and find presents that had been sent in the mail and trying to guess what was in them by the store label on the box! I didn't even have a shower, and most of our wedding gifts were sent only a week or two before the wedding.
My registry was pretty still leading up to my first shower also. Then, the two days before the shower (especially the day before), stuff started disappearing! I also had several people who bought me gifts that weren't on the registry at all, so don't worry about it! I'm sure people care and you will be overwhelmed by all the love you receive :)
Not to bum you out - but my shower was yesterday and while I was amazed at the generosity of all the guests - only 5 items of the 35 were from my registry. I was kind of shocked! I don't want anyone here to think I'm ungrateful because I love everything and it was a great day - but I definitely felt like, "why did I spend so much time and energy on compiling three registries if no one wanted to look at it?"
Oh well - what can you do - I plan to just print out my registries and go shopping at some point.

So, my shower is next weekend and the wedding is in 6 weeks and there have only been 4 things purchased off both my registries :( I am feeling kinda down about this--not sure why but it just makes me feel like people dont care? Yes i know im bad for snooping, but you know youve done it!
