@nhoh: You might want to go in to urgent care or the ER tonight just to make sure. Not saying that to scare you.
I completely agree with brideatbeach - better safe than sorry. Sending positive vibes your way. Bets of luck.
Thank you guys for the well wishes. I've thought about the ER and thought I'd go if I start to feel worse
I would go if you continue to bleed at this rate for another few hours. even if you don't feel that bad something could be up if you are losing that much blood and have had that large of a clot
Like the circle was the size of a golf ball or the entire thickenss as well? Sometimes those continuous pills lead to a lot of lining build up and perhaps something wonky is up with your hormones hence, it is releasing some stuff. I have heard grey clotting being related to miscarrying- was it just red black or other colors as well?
I was on seasonale for awhle and never experienced what you have been going through (except for some moderate to light spotting and one full on period after a week of missing the pill or taking it at different times). I agree with the above posters to go to an urgent care facility.
Sounds like one, but don't beat yourself up about drinking. That is counter productive, and the last thing you want to do to yourself right now. In other circumstances if you had known for sure you were pregnant you know every well you wouldn't have drank, so why blame your moral compass for when you did not know? You were on the pill, it was supposed to have worked, and you did nothing wrong. Remember that. You did nothing wrong under the circumstances.
Do call a doctor just to see what's going on, and if it is a miscarriage, it sounds like your body has done most of the hard work already. Be kind to yourself, and maybe see a counselor afterwards. I know it's probably a whirlwind of emotions for you.
1) There was a surprise, and suddenly it's gone
2) Your hormones are probably in a flux right now from it
3) It's ok to grieve.
I'm thinking about you, OP, and I hope everything is ok.
@nhoh: When I miscarried I passed the placenta & where I was not far along (a little over two months) it was small like a golf ball. :( If you still have it keep it, take it to the ER & figure out what you passed or just go now & let them see if you are indeed having a MC or not. Best of luck sweetie. So sorry you are going through this if that is what it is. :(
With a blood clot that large, and the amount of blood you're losing, I would go to urgent care. Hope you're okay!
@nhoh: Definitely not to scare you, but I would want to know. I'm totally not sure nor am I a doctor, but if it was a miscarriage, it seems like the longer you wait to get a blood test the harder it is to tell because your HCG levels will be dropping?? I'd go to the ER if I were you. I've been on the BC before for years and that bleeding never happened to me.
You could have fibroids or polyps. It's best to stop googling and seek medical care.
This happened to a girlfriend of mine and she was able to take the mass (out of her toilet) and bring it to the ER with her. It didn't end up being a miscarriage, I remember that much. I hope you're ok....definitely go see the dr tonight if you continue to bleed heavily or feel any worse!

Warning.... May be TMI!
Last night I was cooking dinner and all of a sudden felt something wet in my pants. I went to the bathroom and it was blood - lots of bright red blood. I'm on seasonale and have been for 6 years and have never had any kind of bleeding between pill periods and I'm not supposed to be bleeding now. I had gone to the bathroom and had taken a shower 30 minutes prior to this and there was not a drop of blood -nothing. I put on a pad and kept feeling it get wet, went to the bathroom and there was what looked like a clot almost the size of a golf ball, again, never experienced that. I've had lots of cramps and my back aches, I also threw up last night. Im still bleeding and had a bother big clot. Googling the symptoms, pregnancy and miscarriage comes up. I'm worried that I didn't know I was pg and taking the pill and all the drinking I did on vacation last week made me miscarry. My dr was closed today, I will call first thing tomorrow. Has anyone ever experienced anything similar? Advice please!
I did take a pregnancy test this am and it's negative.
