It's not a hard shell case, but I like it. It has thicker padding than I expected.
Also, as for the price drop, you might consider contacting Amazon. I know they were giving refunds to people who bought it within a certain time period before the price drop, but I don't remember how long. Worth a shot, though!
@emb610- cute case! I actually made one like that 
I really want a hard case that looks like a small notebook or something. With my case I'm always so terrified the screen is going to break!

So I finally (a few months ago) broke down and got the Kindle 2...which recently went down in price but lets not even discuss that!
What do you Kindle 2 toting bees use for a case? I'm looking for something hard shelled and there are so many on the market. Should I go with the m-edge or has someone gotten a cheaper knock off that is great as well? I'm looking forward to hearing from you and if you respond can you include a link to what you bought? Thanks!
