I can't decide if I want to register for the pistachio, aqua or ice.
What color kitchen aid mixer are you and why?
I just got the stainless steel one. I looove it!!!
PS I thought you weren't registering and/or giving your gifts away?
I wanted red, but DH gifted me the stainless one and it's great! I have all red dishware - but all our small electrics are stainless - so, it definitely works.
The KA is kind of an enduring little piece, so just pick the color that makes you smile most! :)
From the list you gave "ice" is my fav! I am currently debating between ice, french blue, and majestic yellow!
@ PinkMagnolia Oh, no we are registering, I did mention we were doing that. As I stated in the gift donation posts, I'm all about new pots and pans and a power drill.
We want to donate our cash gifts.
@oracle: all Kitchen Aid mixers make me smile, that why this is tough.
I wanted red, and we ended up getting cinnamon which I wasn't a fan of. So we returned it and got cobalt! It's so pretty!!
I wanted red, but got white because my SIL got it for a great deal.
I vote aqua! If we had any aqua in our kitchen at all, I would have wanted an aqua one!
I got a red one, red is my favorite color, and I have a matching red Kitchen Aid tea kettle sitting on my stove as well :-)
I was given a hot pink KA... it's a deep pink, not light pink. I honestly love it :)
I'm getting one for Christmas, and I'm getting the stainless steel one. We will eventually have all stainless steel appliances, so they will all match :)
I vote Aqua. Its on my registry and I'm saving all my gift cards in case we dont get one I can go purchase it after the wedding!
I am getting the Cornflower Blue one for Xmas.
Which will hopefully match the "Carribean" Le Creuset I'm registering for!
out of your list, i like aqua the best. i have a cobalt one. i just loooooooove that deep, bold blue, and it matches the set of sango nova crocks i have on my counter with flour and sugar and stuff in them.
I would be happy with any of them, but even though pink is my favorite color, I think I am going with red, because I am hoping to have a black/white/red kitchen someday.
@SandyThePoet: Pink is my favorite color too, but FI will not go for that. Everything we registered for is in the blue, auqua, or cream family. We like the calming effect of those colors.
I have the aqua and I LOVE it! Matches a tea pot I already had perfectly and gives such a fun pop of color. I debated between it and the ice for a long time, but decided bold was the way to go.
Just a couple of Kitchenaid tips...
Finally, and this is the most important part - REGISTER FOR IT SOMEWHERE WITH A GREAT RETURN POLICY. Your Kitchenaid will likely burn out at some point. I have the professional and make a lot of bread and am already on my second machine. If you register at a place with a good return policy (I got mine at Bloomingdale's) they will exchange it, no questions asked, if your motor ever burns out. The Kitchenaid is an amazing machine and I could not live without mine, but they are not made to last forever. Knowing this, I just think it's a good idea to know what you are getting into and to buy it somewhere where you know they will be nice about giving you a brand new one if you ever have problems.
The Komen light pink color has been mine for a few years. They just introduced a hot pink version now called raspberry ice. I'm a pink freak, I hope they stop there.
@septcabride: That is so interesting to me, my parents and FILs both got them for their weddings 30 years ago, use them all the time and still have their 30 year old ones!
@chasesgirl: The same for my grandmother - she thinks that make them a lot more cheaply now so you have to replace them.
@knvprincess143: I got the pistachio and love it! It was a SERIOUS tie between pistacio, aqua, and ice...just like you. In the end, my decision was made easy because Macy's had the pistachio one in stock and I wanted it THEN! lol
Another reason I went with pistachio is I already have ALOT of aqua colors in my kitchen and I don't want a two color kitchen...I'm going more for a vintage pastels in the kitchen and the pistachio fit that idea perfectly!
@jacinda10: I don't know if you looked at them side-by-side, but to my eye the aqua matches the Carribean much better than the cornflower.
@jacinda10: You will LOVE the caribbean Le Creuset!!! I have several of the pieces in that color and adore them!
@knvprincess143: Imperial Black. I really wanted the blue one, but DH and I decided to go with a neutral color, so it would match anything we put in the kitchen. :)
@septcabride: Agreed but the store we registered at doesn't have the aqua. :(.
Jealous! I want a KA so badly. Darn huge prices. *grumble grumble*
If I could have my way, I'd have the stainless steel/metal colour.
@chasesgirl: I have my parents that they got as a wedding gift 25 years ago- we have baby pictures of me where it's in the background. The motor clogged up the other year so they got a new one but it just needs cleaned up a bit and it works fine! Though it does start clank if there's too much in the bowl- it's a classic white model.
@jaguar: Do you all have CL down there? I got mine for $25 from someone who upgraded theirs.
@tksjewelry: CL? As in Craigslist, right? :) We have it but it's in a very basic form & it's nowhere near as popular/widely used as it is over there, sadly. Bah!
I'd just buy it & ship it internationally if I could - only the voltages are different here in Aus, hence why they're selling them all here for ridiculous prices.
Maybe register for a color that works best with your kitchen? I really like the red color too, but ended with a white one since it was on sale. It works with the neutrals in our kitchen. I just bought a Pro 600 in Cinnamon Red as a Christmas present for my FILs... hope they like the color!
Red! I love red kitchen appliances. It matches my red teapot and coffee maker. It's so colorful and timeless all wrapped up in one color.
My favorite color is blue, but I save blues for the other area of the house. I do LOVE the aqua kitchenaid, but it just doesn't match my idea of how I like kitchens decorated.
Agree that you should get the professional model if you make a lot of bread. We make tons with ours. A friend has the regular model and hers can't knead the dough enough to make bread.
We registered for Pistachio! Love it. We had originally chosen Cinnamon but then I saw Pistachio in another store and it just stole my heart.
I got the black one when I was a sophomore in high school (we're serious bakers in my family). I upgraded to the gray (metal) Cuisinart when the KitchenAid started to die about two years ago.
