Hey bees! I need help choosing new furniture for my kitchen, namely a table and chairs!
We bought this house earlier in the year and are finally ready to toss our old crummy furniture and get some new stuff.
While I love the house itself, I don’t love some of the decor choices the previous owners made and we’re kind of forced to decorate around these choices until we can make some major changes, namely the kitchen cabinets. They’re a dark cherry wood that, while nice on their own, I find clash with the lighter wood floors and door. I’m trying to find a table that works that won’t introduce a new, competing wood colour. I’ve thought about a non-wood table but I’m not sure if that would also not “go” with the rest of the room. The walls are a light grey and fairly neutral. I like kind of vintage-y, simple looks but was hoping to add some colour with chairs- but again, not sure if it would be “too much” with all this wood.
Here’s a picture- it’s a little dark but there’s tons of natural light during the day. I’m hoping to get a table at IKEA but I’m open to other stores (in Canada!):
What do you think?
