I have it! I’ve never used it for anything other than pasta, but we do use it about twice a month or so.  Usually once for a lasagna and once for wide egg noodle-type, and usually on a Sunday afternoon.  It’s do-able on a weeknight, but I prefer the “big project” type cooking projects to be on a weekend.

I have also wondered about getting this attachment. Is it very heavy and bulky to store?

I have it! It works very well, along with the fettucini and spagetti cutters. They’re heavy, but not bulky to store.

ETA: I’ve also never used it for anything but pasta. The instructions specifically say not to, but really I’m just not sure what else I would use it for.

I agree with @gcwest: they are heavy for what they are, but very manageable – easy to get on and off, easy to clean.  I have the fettichini and spaghetti cutters (I was gifted a set of the three: pasta roller and two cutters), though I almost never use the spaghetti one.

As for storage, I have one of those clear plastic tubs that holds all my ktichenaid attachments (the dough hook/beater/pasta rollers) and so they stay in there in my pantry when not in use. Super simple!

I have all three (pasta roller, fettucini, and spaghetti) and I love them!  They were gifted to me a while ago, but I think they’re worth it… I would buy them for myself.  When making ravioli I just roll it out thin and then fold it over the filling, crimp, and cut.

They are great fun, but making pasta is a significant effort. We have the three set and would use it more if we have more counter space for drying ithe pasta and stuff. It tastes a lot better to me!

DH and I have been drooling over the pasta attachements!  We have a manual pasta machine right now, and everytime we use it we think “this would be so much better with the kitchenaid one!”  it is on our Christmas list!

We did register for it for our wedding, and obviosly we didn’t get it.  (We expected that, but had to try anyway!)
