They don’t care how far you’re driving, whether its 10 minutes to the church or reception, or 45 minutes to the church or reception. What you’re paying for is for is a combination of the car, their time, and service. Whether they’re driving or not, its on their time and using their vehicle, so they charge accordingly regardless of your use.

Truth be told, $800 sounds pretty reasonable considering your location and how long you want the limo. A few years ago when I was looking for a limo for a birthday party, the minimum was an 2 hours and it cost $700 for standard limo (I forget how many people), not one of the fancy hummer ones or anything.

You say you found one for $350, but they seemed unprofessional… Well there is the difference right there between $350 limo service and $800 limo service. Like I said, you’re paying for more than just the car, you’re paying for the time, service, and experience. Even then, who knows what sort of junky run-down limo you’d get for $350. You get what you pay for. If $800 for a respectable, professional limo service is unreasonable to you, when that is really quite standard, then perhaps you need to consider limo alternatives.

SummerOfLove:  I’m not sure how much this option costs, but FIs cousin got married in KW on a budget and they rented a city bus to drive from the church, to pictures at Victoria Park and then the Schwaben Club. Pretty much four hours total, tons of room for people, you could bring drinks, and the sign said “Just Married”. And don’t worry, they clean the heck out of it beforehand, I’ve never seen such a clean bus.
