@FutureMrsLadolcetta:  I’m only halfway through my alterations, but so far they have been great. My first fitting was a few weeks ago with Ellie. I’m not having any major alterations, only having it taken in (about 4 sizes!) and hemmed – about 9 inches!, so there aren’t any additional charges. At the end of my first appointment, we scheduled the second – they were very flexible with dates. I was told that I would have 2 more fittings then they would prep the dress for me to pickup the Thursday before my wedding.

@FutureMrsLadolcetta:  I haven’t had my alterations done yet, but I know when I bought my dress I was very up-front with them that I was on a weight loss journey (I’d lost 50 pounds before buying my dress) and they said that no matter what happens alterations-wise, they’d be able to accommodate it, even if it means taking the whole dress apart.

They were fabulous! No, they did not charge extra for anything. In fact, one of the advantages of doing alterations there is that they charge a flat rate. The rate was fairly high ($600 I think), but my dress had so much beading that it was definitely worth it to me. I wouldn’t have trusted anyone else to do it. They took my dress in, hemmed it, and sewed a bra into it. Before I took it home, they steamed it and looked over the beading to repair any minor damages, and packed it up nicely for me. I also bought my veil and headpiece there as part of my first fitting.

@FutureMrsLadolcetta:  I have had 3 fittings so far. My last and final fitting is 9/10 and ill be able to take it home.

Luckily, they dont charge for alterations. They were always easy about scheduling an appointment. The boutique where I bought my gown is awesome. The women are super nice and theh know whay they are doing. Its kmportant bc the wedding dress is super important

@FutureMrsLadolcetta:  Prior to my first fitting, I had lost 19 lbs, she told me that its alright if I lose about 5-7 lbs, but more than that would probably require more alterations. However, my dress has a corset, so its it can be tied tighter if I lose more weight.

@FutureMrsLadolcetta:  Do you mind if I ask when your dress came in?  My wedding is on 11/16, and mine still hasn’t come in from Kleinfeld.  Thanks!

@shrinkgirl:  If it makes you feel any better, I ordered my dress exactly 1 year before my wedding and it only arrived 8 weeks before my wedding.

@FutureMrsLadolcetta:  Its a Pnina Tornai ball gown. What dress do you have?
