Ahhh! I’m such a Klienfeld fan and I am close enough to Toronto to go but I CAN’T. I have my dress already. It’s a fairly cheap dress, so I know it’ll easily be outshone by the dresses they have there (though I absolutely love my dress). I just want to go!! Wah! Haha. But no. It’ll just make me want to buy a super expensive dress on top of my existing dress. I hope you have a FABULOUS experience!!

PinkStripes:  I didn’t even realize it was opening here! I went to pick up some new wine glasses at the Bay, made my way up to the kitchen stuff floor and was faced with Kleinfeld’s! Shock of the century. I had really only planned on visiting White for my dress but now feel like I should make an appointment at Kleinfeld’s too.

Do you know if the Toronto store has the extensive collection that they’re known for?

Didn’t go to that store (though it isn’t too far from me), but I definitely have a bum too (I’m VERY pear shaped), and didn’t have too much of a problem fitting it into samples.  One shop attempted to fit me in a small bridal 8, and that didn’t work so great, but other than that I was able to put it on every dress they brought to me.  A few couldn’t zip and had to be clipped together, and some were very large on me and had to be clipped (I don’t think I tried on a single sample that came close to fitting).  You have to sort of use your imagination to imagine that the dress actually fits, which is weird because you are spending so much money on it, but that is just how it is.  I was able to choose a dress, and I love it.  No dress regret at all!!!  Good luck!

PinkStripes:  No bridesmaids! Very small wedding. I have no excuse to go. I’ll just continue to marathon Say Yes to the Dress and Randy to the Rescue!! Hahah.

I have a very very similar shape to you. I found that most of the dresses (bridal 10) I could get on But they had to go over my head.  Some of them couldn’t zip though. you have to use your imagination for many of the dresses. For instance, I tried on hayle Paige’s khalessi dress and it looked comically bad on me bc it was SO tight on the hips And the fabric is not forgiving. However I think it would look ok if it was the right size. I ended up going for hayle paige “keaton” 🙂 ordered it in a 12 bc the sample was super hard to zip up and very tight on the hips. Let us know how it goes!!

Oh no! I’m sorry your experience was so bad. I would give them feedback on that. If they don’t realize, they can’t fix it, right? Any maybe you got a new consultant who didn’t know the stock yet. It would probably be difficult to know everything right off the bat. That’s no excuse for making you feel that way. And as for the mermaid, I’ve seen like..size 20 ladies wear that sillhouette and look fab so if she thought you were ‘too big’ she’s clearly wrong. But that sucks. I’m sorry. I hope wherever you go next, or if you go there again that you have a MUCH better experience!!

PinkStripes:  Yay! My first experience trying dresses was HORRIBLE. But the right consultant makes SUCH a difference!

I”m so sorry your experience wasn’t good. I hope it was just the consultant and not the store.

I really wish this had happened last year so I could have gone!
